  • Rachel Nakatani recommended Alyssa Runyan
Alyssa is an incredible yoga instructor hailing from a very special lineage which resonates with my own inclinations in practice. I was just telling an acquaintance earlier today about the most memorable yoga class, where each student had only 1 inch of space around their entire mat. We all decided to commit and stay, opening our minds and hearts to a challenging new experience, and Alyssa delivered an exceptional class. Not once did we expand into another's space; we learned to be humble and content with only the space of our mat, and the quality of our minds. She is an exceptional teacher! Well-rounded, deep, intentional classes. I definitely am interested in pursuing another certification and would love to study with Alyssa! read more

  • Rachel Nakatani recommended Acupuncture and Herbs
Adam is a quirky, kind man who genuinely loves his work. I've received acupuncture treatments from him, and was hesitant about herbs until I had an aggressive reaction to poison oak and didn't know what was causing the rash. He recommended a Chinese herb formula which worked within two days, eliminating the intense itching and reducing the redness and swelling almost immediately. I'm grateful to know an experienced TCM herbalist as I avoid western medicine like the plague, and find TCM practices to be much more holisitic with longer-lasting results. read more

  • Rachel Nakatani recommended John McCabe
I started going to John for acupuncture shortly after he became licensed and was seeking clientele to begin building his business. Despite being a recent graduate, I still feel very strongly that he is one of the best acupuncturists I've been to. He is very attentive, detail-oriented, and takes the extra time and effort to ask questions, inspect your tongue, read pulses, etc. I was in the best health of my life when I was receiving regular treatments from John, and he is a gentle and kind soul. Highly recommend! read more

  • Rachel Nakatani recommended Pilgrimage of the Heart
This studio has set an incredibly high standard for me in regards to quality yoga studios. The instructors are top notch, with a diverse array of backgrounds and skill sets. I particularly love the anusara-inspired practices, and tasteful/easily digestible inclusion of yogic philosophy. This place will always feel like home; the sense of community and dedication to practice is very much missed! read more

  • Rachel Nakatani recommended Heather Fenwick
Heather is one of my warrior goddess gurus who largely influenced my practice as a yogi. Her classes always have the perfect balance between effort and ease, with exploration encouraged and wonderful hands-on adjustments to gently guide you deeper into true alignment. She often weaves acupressure techniques, astrological influences, and Ayurvedic wisdom into her teachings, bringing depth and context to a challenging yet playful asana practice. read more
