At Recommended, our mission is to save you time, energy, and money by connecting you with the best small businesses and independent professionals. When a business is Recommended to you by a friend, you’re likely to: save time that would have been wasted browsing review sites, save money wasted on a poorly run business, and save energy wasted on working with someone who wasn’t fit for the job (and then having to hire someone afterwards to clean up the mess).

How do I earn Credits?

Recommend a business or professional, and invite friends to do the same! You’ll get $5 Credits for your first recommendation, $10 Credits for your second, and $15 Credits for each recommendation thereafter. Plus, when you invite a friend to join Recommended, you’ll both earn $10 Credits when they sign up.

How do I apply Credits to purchases?

Any Credits are automatically applied to the deposit amount when you book a service through Recommended.

Can I purchase anything on Recommended with my Credits?

Yes. Your Credits expire 90 days after they are granted. We may also have special promotions running from time to time that expire in a given time frame, such as, "Get $25 Credits towards any Home Services in May."

How and where do I redeem my Credits?

When you book a service directly on, any available Credits are automatically applied to your purchase. For services that are listed on but where the purchase takes place on the merchant’s website, simply upload your receipt to Bookings in your account and you’ll be reimbursed within 7 business days.

Can I redeem my Credits at a physical business location or only online?

To redeem Credits, you must initiate your purchase on by clicking "Book It Now" and complete your purchase (or booking reservation) online. If you complete the purchase on the merchant's website rather than on, you will need to request reimbursement (go to Bookings in your account).

Is there a limit to how many Credits I can have at any given time?

No, there is no limit to the amount of Credits you can acquire and hold at any time.

Can I transfer my Credits?

No, credits are non-transferable between users. However, you can purchase services for someone else through your account, so in that way, you are "giving" your credits to someone else.

Can I redeem my Credits for cash?

No. Credits have no inherent cash value.
