  • ptegtmeyer recommended Rock Star Boot Camp
I have had regular attendance to Rock Star Boot Camp for about 5 years.....and it's a 35 minutes drive-one way. I've never done any physical activity (outside yoga) for 5 years before and definitely not drove 35 minutes to workout. Curtis is very engaging and he understands how movement affects the body. He knows everyone that comes by name, it's amazing! There are 50-60 people in a session (there are 6 sessions a day) and he knows everyone's name. He is good a reading people, those people who need a bit more 'attention' he gives that to them. He answers your questions, he will point out issues with your form and help correct them. He really does celebrates life. read more

  • ptegtmeyer recommended Yoga Breeze
Rachel is yoga. She really is the reason I keep attending yoga class at that particular studio. I feel if you don't connect with the instructor you don't really get ALL the wonderful benefits (too busy in your head being annoyed). She instructs class with so much integrity, knowledge, skill, kindness and just pure love. She makes appropriate comments with appropriate volume levels to each individual in class. If your pose is good and you like that outward attention she will acknowledge the pose during the class by calling your name and then providing you the feedback. For me, that makes me feel she is so engaged in 'class' and the people and not just 'teaching'. Anyone can just call out instructions. If you are struggling with a pose she will quietly assist you (not to disrupt others or you/ making you feel 'less than'). She always has a 'lesson' for the class weather it is a story, a personal experience or something she read/heard. She sets the tone at the start so it is more than just a 'class'. She always greets everyone before class, even if it's a simple wave. After class, if appropriate for the person she will give you a hug. For me, it makes me feel 'wanted' in class, that she is also invested in me being there. I've been to yoga classes where I am not sure the instructor could even tell you how many people were in class. Rachel can tell you how many people along with everyone's name. She is truly engaged in what she does. She always offers to hang around after class for any questions, help with a pose or to model a pose. Also, I've been in classes where she is a student, and her practice is BEAUTIFUL! I really feel while she is a student she is also 'teaching' because to watch her (although I know you not supposed to) navigate in and out of poses is truly an inspiration. I had new understandings simply by taking moments to watch her own practice. It really shows that she does really practice what she 'preaches'. She is simply wonderful! read more
