Tiger Lily Yoga

Yoga Instructor

"Those who are drawn to yoga begin a practice for various reasons. Many people practice yoga to supplement their exercise routine or as their main form of exercise. Yoga helps them stay healthy and feel well. Some come to yoga because they are unwell and are looking for a solution to their health problems. Others undertake the practice of yoga to gain freedom from stress, to calm their minds, and to manage the pressures of work and family life. To a few, yoga is a business or a profession. And some people consider yoga their spiritual path." A.G. Mohan from Krishnamacharya; His Life and Teachings.

Welcome to southeast Seattle's new vinyasa studio, Tiger Lily Yoga. We offer an array of asana classes that coordinate movement and breath. Another name for this practice as "vinyasa" or "flow." The poses in a vinyasa class are strung together in a sequence and tailored to the students. This creates an efficient flow throughout the class and teaches us to breathe, thus calming the entire body system. Read more

I love this place. Great location, a wide variety of classes (I especially love Ruth's Power classes and all of Caro's classes), wonderful instructors. It is also inclusive, body positive environment that really strives to be a part of and give back to the local community. This is not a sterile and silent studio where you are discouraged from speaking before class -- this is a vibrant place that has a great sense of community. Thanks, Tiger Lily!

Delightful instructor who smoothly and discreetly gives modifications and adjustments to students who may not be as advanced or flexible in some muscle groups. Friendly, inviting, and helpful. Attended the ashtanga evening series with a friend and really enjoyed it.

This is by far my favorite studio in Seattle. Not only do teachers seem to have creative license to really share their strengths, this studio isn't afraid to lean-into tough conversations and facilitate growth beyond the mat.

Yoga studios like this are just what we need in our neighborhood. Emily and her staff are friendly, encouraging, and excellent instructors.

I'm not very flexible and downward dog is my least favorite pose. So, I was happy to find a place willing to help me improve at a pace I can set on my own. They always offer alternatives to poses that are hard for me and give positive guidance on how to start small so I can see progress and growth in my efforts.

I love this studio, having been several times already within a week. I am thrilled that a Vinyasa studio has come to the South end and even more thrilled that you get your money worth with 90 minute classes and reasonable rates/passes. Emily, the owner, is warm, welcoming, and clearly put in a lot of effort and thought into the creation of this space. All the classes I have taken here have been lead with clear instruction, thoughtful challenges, acceptance, and love. I could ask for nothing more in a yoga studio!
