For the past 27 years, Carol Westcott has devoted herself to educating the next generation of singers in her private studio in Baltimore, Maryland. An expert in teaching adolescent and young adult singers, she is equally skilled at teaching classical and contemporary vocalists. Numerous students that worked with Carol while in middle school and high school are attending renowned BFA and Vocal Performance programs such as, NYU Tisch, University of Miami, Royal Scottish Academy of Dramatic Arts, University of the Arts, Northwestern University, and Shenandoah Conservatory. Due to the high demand for competent teachers of contemporary vocal technique, Carol has spent her career becoming qualified in teaching contemporary vocalists of all styles. Beyond vocal technique, Carol has an extensive knowledge of the repertoire associated with contemporary singing. She is known for helping students find the perfect musical theatre audition songs. Her knowledge of rock and pop from the 50’s to present is unsurpassed. She is also well versed in Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and Country. As a performer, Carol has sung styles as diverse as rock and opera.     Carol is not only a wonderful person but also a fabulous voice coach for my daughter. My daughter lacked confidence in her voice and Carol was the key to unlocking her potential and helping her to have a great audition for her high school musical.

    Carol is extremely knowledgeable and uses time well. She is very warm and encouraging, she is tuned into the unique desires and goals for each student, and has streamlined vocal exercises in such a way to cover all bases and allow plenty to work on songs. Could not be happier with my experience with Carol!

    Carol has been working with my son for several years. He has improved so much with her help and really enjoys his weekly lessons. She chooses wonderful audition songs for him and prepares him so well. He has become very professional under her guidance and has had much success in auditions. He has learned so much about the business overall in addition to working on his voice.

    Carol is very endearing and welcoming, providing me with a wonderful premise of her experience and shared much insight, while we figured out a direction to start, and communicated my desired goals and intentions.
