Structural Integration of Los Angeles

Massage Therapist

My name is Charles Eckhart. I am a board certified (NCBTMB #528028-07) and state certified (California State # 838) massage therapist with over 750 hours of training. I have a private practice in Los Angeles specializing in structural integration and movement education. I work with people who are in pain due to injury, stress, and postural issues. I also work on athletes and pregnant women.

In 2006 I received my training certificate in massage therapy from the Arizona School of Integrative Studies (ASIS). Since 2006, I have been a student of structural integration, beginning my study by training with Tom Myers in his Anatomy Trains and Body3 series, and numerous other structural integration courses with Layna Cirelli and Peter Ehlers. Since 2012, I have worked in mentorship with Mary Bond, a preeminent writer and practitioner of somatic movement, and former chair of the Rolf Institute's Movement Department. I also train in Franklin Method and Pilates to apply movement techniques to my sessions. Read more

... Charles, as a therapist, is always bright and friendly in a natural sort of way, and puts in extra effort to solve the puzzle of your bodily issues and fix them. The exercises and movement education he gives you throughout your sessions are also very helpful and are explained simply and clearly.

If you have chronic body issues and are looking for someone with both a detailed knowledge of the human anatomy and the ability to recognize patterns of its dysfunction by observing your movement, I would definitely recommend Charles.

I saw Charles at the beginning of my journey to figure out how to get out of the extreme pain my lower back issue had me in. If you are someone who wants to have a better understanding of your particular gait, posture, and cause of pain, I can't think of a better person to go to. Charles approaches your body issues with intelligence, intuition, and care. He will evaluate you, do work on your soft tissue, and come up with a plan to further your healing process. It doesn't hurt that his office is very clean, modern, and that he plays great music while working on you. No flutes or wind chimes...thank you. So, if you are in pain or just want to get your body in alignment, Charles can get you on your way.

I've had a lot of different body work having recurring issues with my hips and knees and Charles is the best! He completely transformed my body during our series and during each session he really made tangible changes. Even though there is some discomfort with deep bodywork he made it as absolutely comfortable as possible and I completely trust him.

I'm going to really miss seeing him every week because he's such a lovely person! But it's amazing to work with someone who wants you to feel better and NOT have to see them every week. And it's a plus when you look like a different person with effortlessly good posture! My body feels completely different and it's all thanks to Charles.

I see Charles once a month to keep my body and muscles healthy and free of pain. My daily work requires a lot from me and the work Charles accomplishes not only helps in the immediate but also long term. I couldn't recommend him more!
