Special Furniture services did an exceptional job with this very challenging refinishing of a vintage Paul Evans dresser. There are many panels and a lot of detail on this piece. The refinish from brown to black was beautifully done. The black finish is deep and rich, yet still allows the original wood grain to be fully visible. Excellent work. Highly recommended.

These folks are outstanding! Ruben and his crew came to our home in Westchester, removed eight kitchen chairs which were 20 years old, restuffed/recovered them and returned them in such great shape that a number of friends of ours complimented us on our "new" chairs. Ruben and his crew also took two 60 year old sidearm chairs and tightened everything up so they are as good as new. Ruben and SFS are the real deal and truly skilled, caring and reliable craftsmen!

My dog ripped a decent-sized hole in one of my couch cushions. I emailed SFS through the website on a weekend and Ruben replied the same day. He explained exactly what he needed to do and answered all my questions. He came to my apartment a few days later (on time!), took the cushions, and then estimated two weeks for the job. It ended up being almost three weeks but the quality of the fix was so good that I didn't mind (also he put in extra effort to find fabric on the cushion he could reuse, rather than buying new which would have cost more).
I would absolutely use SFS again in a heartbeat! -

Ruben refinished and repaired three living room chairs. His work is perfection. He stained the chairs, matching one to our dining set and the other two to a darker color we had discussed. He even took a drawer from our buffet to make sure the staining on the chair was perfect. The two darker chairs' cushions were redone perfectly. Both chairs match and they are the first things people notice in our apartment. Call him! You will not be disappointed.
