The worst experience. Seattle CPA did my tax return for the last year. I have to get it to fix twice. There was such a bad mistake, that even a 5-year-old kid won’t do it. Also, before I was Handing him my paperwork, we agreed on a price. Which was 400 dollars. They done the mistake and want to charge me for that. I got a bill of $840 dollars after two weeks, for a mistake that was done on SEATTLE CPA end. I will keep it short just stay away from them.

In July 2019, I was recommended to Eric by our bookkeeping team. I value their suggestions because they are the best in town. I reached out to Eric to amend my business and personal tax returns, which had some minor errors. The business tax returns needed amendments in the depreciation schedules. For example, one of the business returns was submitted by the previous CPA with all assets depreciated (100%) in 2018, which needed a change to a depreciation schedule of 5 years. And the other business return had a depreciation of real estate assets, which required a resubmission with no depreciation at all. Such filings of corporate tax return also require the depositions of the owners’ amended personal tax returns. There fore I requested Eric to amend my business partner’s tax return as well.
Eric quoted me $400 for each personal tax return amendment and $600 for each business tax return amendment. Given the nature of the revisions, the prices were on a higher-end, compared with other CPA firms. Nevertheless, we proceeded with Eric.
I paid $600 on Aug 7th, my business partner paid $600 on Aug 8th, and I finally paid $800 on Sept 23rd, 2019. Eric amended the business tax returns first. Business Tax Return 1 (Amended) — It still had simple errors like retained earning did not match the books etc. When I pointed out the errors, Eric agreed and confirmed that he would review and fix all the issues. Business Tax Return 2 (Amended) — It still has significant errors until today. Again it should have been fixed during the amendment. When I pointed out the errors, Eric responded that such mistakes were because of my previous CPA’s inappropriate filings. My Partner’s Tax Return (Draft) — It had super simple miscalculation issues. The taxes paid throughout 2018 (W-2 filings) turned out to be the taxes owed on the amended return. To discuss the performances, he invited us to his office, and we met Eric at his office. We discussed the returns. He corrected my partner’s return and handed us copies of our filled amended returns (personal). Since the amended returns were supposed to be posted out to the IRS, Eric offered to post the originals to the IRS, and he kept the original returns. My Tax Return had similar errors as my partner’s. For the whole time in his office, we were discussing my partner’s tax return errors. I did not get a chance to even look at my return at his office. I noticed the issue with my tax return when I came home, and it was already passed at 5 pm, so I reached out to him the next day. He proposed another scheduled meeting to fix the return again. I skipped the meeting because of family priorities, and he re-recorded it. Finally, We met again at Eric’s office, and we corrected the amended return. This time I could not get a copy of my amended return because of his printer issues. He offered to mail my original return to the IRS and confirmed that he would email me a copy of my return. That was on Oct 29th, 2019. On Nov 11th, Eric reached out to my partner and required payment for an unpaid balance of $800 and some change. I was not in the office. So I called him back the next day thinking that maybe there’s a billing error. But Eric surprised me by confirming that he had to work additional hours on my return, my partner’s return, and the business returns. I asked Eric to give me some time so that I can discuss it with my partner. I did not feel like switching our CPA during the last quarter of a year over $800. So when I brought it up with my partner. He gave me a different picture of what Eric had told him regarding the services for which we were invoiced. Upon checking my inbox, I found an email from Eric with the break down of the services in Aug, Sept, and Oct — which were not out of the scope for what we had already paid him. I called him a few days later to discuss with him the invoice because his phone calls to us demanding payment. He started the conversation by requiring the amount. I asked him to for the reason that why would he not mention any charges (which weren’t out of scope) during any of our meetings or phone calls till Nov 11th?His reasons were suspicious and sketchy. I requested a copy of my tax return. He was pretty hesitant about sending me my copy in the beginning, but he then confirmed to do so when I told him that I would file a complaint against him with the AGO WA State. I received a notice from the IRS, which stated that I owed more taxes for 2018. I reached out to him again and asked him about the IRS notice. He assured me that he had sent the corrected tax return to the IRS on Oct 30th via mail. But IRS claims otherwise. Lastly, when I visited his office for the amendment of my amended return. He did not give me any tax return and instead promised that he would file it and email me a copy. He held my return as a hostage and demanded the $800 plus change. And that has caused many complications in my divorce. So far, one of my business tax returns and my tax return still have inaccuracies even though Eric had received full payments for those invoices. I am in the process of filing form 14157-A with the IRS and reporting his misconduct to every Social Media Page and the Attorney General Office of WA State.

Seattle CPA Professionals are hands down the best CPAs I've ever worked with.

I started with Seattle CPA Professionals on my first business, then was so happy with everything I moved my personal over to them.

I'm starting a few new businesses soon, and I plan to use Seattle CPA Professionals on all of them.

    Highly recommended!

I called Eric to see if his services would be applicable to my situation. He took a moment out of his day to direct me to another service provider. Integrity is key in business this guy has it.

Eric is a true professional. I called his office out of the blue for just a quick assessment on wether or not it would make sense for me to go to him for my needs. He listened to my situation on the phone, was extremely friendly, and advised me of the best course of action (which didn't entail utilizing his services as it turned out). If my situation ever changes I would not hesitate to give him my business.

I was in debt to the IRS for over $55k. My attorney had recommended I file Chapter 13 to take care of the debt, however, at the end of the day, I was paying over $900 a month. I dropped out of Chapter 13 and went to Eric instead. He was able to get my IRS debt down to almost nothing (your mileage my vary).

Eric was prompt with his communications, helped me with my yearly taxes and answered my business related questions. He helped me structure my business (and my thinking) to ensure my taxes get paid on time every year.

    I would highly recommend him!

Really happy we chose to work with Eric this year on our returns. He was very communicative, filed the returns quickly, and maximized our returns. We were shocked with the return and extremely happy with his work. Will definitely work with him again in the coming years.
