They are an all-around great store for anyone who loves the outdoors (especially skiers!).

REI has been tuning my board for 3 years and they have always been great--edges are sharp, bindings tuned and tight, personable and on-time. Easy pickup and dropoff. Good stuff.

I have been a regular customer of the former Rockville Pike location and have ALWAYS been satisfied with with the product selection and the staff.

Their new location on Rose St. is HUGE and can make an adult enthusiast feel like a kid in a candy store! I needed a new pair of hiking boots and was given a great consultation by two very patient members of the staff and was able to make the proper purchase decision. Sincerity and enthusiasm are not things that can be refuted and their staff is alive with it. -

Most complete, biggest REI I've been to, yet! I like that the staff will ask you one time if you need help & if you don't need any then they'll leave you alone but not before saying to let them know if you have any questions. Then you can browse the whole store to your heart's content. Been to 5 other stores in CA & AZ.

I've been coming to the REI on the pike since the early 2000s, and they never disappoint. All the staff are knowledgeable about the gear they carry, and if someone doesn't have an answer for your question they'll find you someone that does. Way better than the downtown DC location, so I occasionally make a trip out here to avoid that one. They also let me take my dog out of her carrier and walk around on leash in the store and all the staff were very excited to meet her.
