Skill acquisition has many stages. Being shown a skill is just the beginning. There is a long journey from this stage to the one where you have complete ownership, or mastery, of the skill. We have a structured program in place for organizing where skills are along this journey and for providing the ideal type of practice, at the ideal time (this is important), at every stage.
We believe that there is a big difference between presenting and teaching. Presenting is showing a skill. You can do this brilliantly and still not have taught it. Teaching a skill is being responsible for the students' understanding and recall of the skill, over the short- AND long-term. Read more
