When I was pregnant with my first child, I knew I wanted to have a natural birth, but looking back now, I realize how little I knew about the nature of childbirth. How it is about trusting in yourself and knowing it is an intuitive process.I watched all the Birth Stories on television, every video I could get my hands on and read every birth book on the bookstore shelves. I followed my baby’s progress and knew everything there was to know! or so I thought While I thought I had prepared myself academically and new the physical nature of birth was going to be “labored” I wasn’t prepared emotionally. I'm not sure I can put into words just how grateful and blessed we feel to have had Becca as our doula. I didn't know what a doula was before I got pregnant and then my sister in law had one and she convinced me to look into it. Of course we looked up plenty in the Santa Rosa area and I interviewed a lot of wonderful women but the feeling that we had when we left the interview with Becca really sealed the deal. ...

Becca is truly a blessing in my life. My pregnancy, labor and deliver were all perfectly normal physically, but I was a wreck emotionally. When the time came, my very unsupportive and absent (ex)boyfriend was doing nothing to help but stress me out. Becca was there for me, going above and beyond what I expected of her. I attribute my very positive birth experience to her loving care. She knew all the right things to say and had helpful advice and positions, massage, and soothing hands to help me throughout my labor. ...
