Dr. Grimes grew up in the Kansas City area, graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1989, and attended the University of Missouri – Columbia 1989-1993. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry before attending the University of Missouri – St Louis School of Optometry where he earned a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997.
Dr. Grimes completed externships at both the Kansas City and Columbia VA hospitals, concentrating specifically in the areas of ocular disease, i.e. glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, infectious conditions, etc. Additionally, he has gained valuable experience in practice over the past 15 years fitting contact lenses for astigmatism, presbyopia (bifocals), and other specialty contact lenses including rigid gas permeable (RGPs). Great eye care from Dr Yates at Littlefield Eye. She has figured out a solution for my near and far sightedness so I don't have to wear glasses. Always in and out quickly yet a very thorough exam. I'm well cared for by the entire staff.

This is an excellent clinic for eye care. Both doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly. The technicians are experienced and do a great job with eye examinations and use of technology. I moved further away from the clinic, but still make the drive because of the great care I receive!

I cannot say enough good things about this office and Dr. Grimes! I have been coming here for many years now, and have referred several people, including my own parents, who are equally satisfied with the care they receive here. The technicians are always prompt and courteous, and Dr. Grimes is by far the most thorough and compassionate eye doctor I have ever been seen by (and that's saying a lot, since I've been wearing contacts and/or glasses since I was 6 years old!)
