Leader of the Pack Dog Training

Pet Services

At Leader of the Pack Dog Training we believe dogs deserve to live healthy, happy lives in loving and responsible families. Our mission is to create a strong partnership between dog and pack leaders. As pack animals, dogs need and appreciate a strong and stable leadership structure. Without this a dog can become distracted, anxious and even unruly.

The good news - we believe every dog can be a Good Dog! It is up to the owners to learn to relate to, and capitalize on, their dog's pack mentality so that they can achieve the success they desire. With Leader of the Pack Dog Training's variety of training and behavior modification programs you can find the tools you need to bring balance and happiness into your own pack. Read more

We cannot thank Mark enough! We adopted JJ, a Saint Bernard rescue, a couple of months ago and enrolled in the Leader of the Pack Foundations Basic Obedience class almost immediately. JJ graduated yesterday and we couldn't be happier with the results. He is a great dog and bonded with us right away. But he was initially very reactive with other people and dogs. Through Mark, we learned that he was being protective because he thought he was the leader of the pack. Once we followed Mark's advice to establish ourselves as the leaders, JJ was able to relax and trust that we would protect him. Now he loves people and he is starting to accept other dogs. We highly recommend Mark and LOTP!

We got our puppy, Henry, from a shelter, and we learned quickly that he had a lot of anxiety around people, other dogs, and really anything new. We signed up for Mark's rescue redo package, where we had several private sessions with Mark, as well as group puppy training classes. This was all very helpful as new dog owners, and with a lot of effort on our part and Mark's guidance we saw gradual improvement with Henry. We decided to do the live-in program for one week when we were on vacation, to see if we could refine some of his skills and help him with his anxiety. We came home to a very different dog. Henry now comes when he is called, and responds more consistently to commands. But most importantly, he is much more comfortable around other dogs, and we are now able to take him to off-leash, and unfenced dog parks, without having to worry about him! Our only minor issue was that it was difficult to schedule and confirm the training sessions. But the outcome was totally worth any initial difficulty we had.

Mark is absolutely exceptional and we are so happy that we found him! We have a 10 month Labradoodle who is very outgoing on a good day and a total nuisance on a bad one. We had taken our puppy to a training class to learn the basics but began to realize that he would only sit/lie down/come, etc when he felt like it, which wasn't very often. He also had developed a terrible habit of barking incessantly at our neighbors when they took out the trash and also at me when we would try to sit down for dinner. Mark did two weeks of stay in training with our puppy and he came back SO much better. A huge part of this has been Mark teaching us (mostly me) how to effectively communicate with our puppy (read: not treating him for every little thing he does right nor yelling at him when he gets on my last nerve.) Our puppy now barks only once in a blue moon and will entertain himself through out the day, which definitely wasn't the case before we found Mark. We HIGHLY recommend him!!!

We love Mark, Rodeo, and Drogo. Mark's a wealth of knowledge on dog behavior and psychology. We took Mark's obedience class with our 18 month old Rottie mix and had great results so long as we worked with our dog at home. You can't do the exercise once and expect your dog to be perfect all of a sudden. Mark leaves time for you to ask questions outside the curriculum. I would recommend Mark to anyone.
