Pedal Hard
Kevin Livingston

Cycling Coach

An older brother in need of a riding partner led to the start of Kevin’s road cycling career. They dug up a rusty 10-speed from their family’s garage, dawned their coveted 7-Eleven. jerseys and were off. Kevin grew up 30 miles west of St.Louis. The hills created by the river bluffs along the Missouri and Mississippi rivers suited his climbing ability and it wasn’t long until he began competing in 1989 in the juniors’ category and found his way onto the USA National Team.

Pedal Hard Training has a strong team that motivates its clients to improve their cycling fitness, learn more about their body and reach higher goals. Read more

Because of his understanding of cycling training and his ability to individualize training programs to each cyclist's needs. Also because of his personality and easygoing nature.

There is Huge difference in biking "help" that you can get. Sometimes, you just really want REAL Experts, but experts that are also friendly, patient, and articulate. These are those guys. They are truly skilled experts with thousands of hours, deep technical experience, deep competitive experience (all the way to competing in the Tour de France, btw), and fun to work with to boot.

I went to see them to increase my endurance and enjoyment by reducing minor pains after several hours in the saddle.

Kevin's scientific and organized approach was impressive. The RETUL technology was excellent, but Kevin is so experienced I could see it was just confirming with greater precision that which he'd already observed. To have someone of this skill who is also very patient and who customizes his methodology to your goals and level is a great combination, whether you are a novice or a serious biker.

The accuracy and thoroughness of the methodology paid off. Riding my bike was much more fun in two ways. With adjustments, and with coaching on technique, I was able to ride longer. My pains were just, well, gone. However, what surprised me was that I'd picked up another 10 to 20% more power and speed just by having the right fit and essentially 1 hour of focus on technique. I couldn't believe the difference.

If your goal is to improve your cycling performance then this is the place to go. If you find yourself riding more miles but not getting faster in terms of miles per hour then putting structure into your training is the way to improve. That's no surprise, but finding a place with experienced riders/trainers is hard. Go here, these people know what they are doing. You will get more out of your training than you could manage on your own. It's time efficient and the set up is great, solid equipment and comfortable surroundings. I've been going for just over 7 weeks and I can see and feel the difference.

Seriously, if you want to get better, faster with more endurance then Pedal Hard is where you should start.

I went to Pedal Hard for the full Retul Bike Fit. I've done a fit before but it was nothing like the Pedal Hard experience. Kevin and Brandt understand how to fit a person on a bike and train the pedal motion at the same time, and in doing so helped eliminate me my knee pain from riding. Highly recommended, the best possible investment in your riding experience.

I spend my "off season" at Pedal Hard. Getting out of bed at 445 AM is not enticing, but they always have the lights on, the music going, and are on point to get me motivated to do my best. I noticed a perceived difference in my riding strength after a six week camp, and my measured LT has gone up since I started working consistently with them.
