  Contacted Jay with questions about load bearing walls, he called me back promptly and spent some time explaining structural engineering to me. I work in property management and deal with contractors & vendors on a regular basis, and Jay is an honest good guy that seems genuinely interested in helping people instead of looking to make his next buck. He was upfront with his capabilities and honest with his work load & schedule, and I will use Jay again when the next appropriate project comes up.

  We found Jay through all the great reviews he received on Yelp and decided to give him a call. We're happy that we did! Jay helped us with some reinforcements to our subfloor. He drew up plans for the City, installed new piers/posts, and built us some shelving to help organize our crawlspace. The job was done smoothly and he always left the work site clean. If you're looking for a dependable and knowledgeable contractor who will spend a little more time to listen to your needs, we definitely recommend you give Jay a call!

  Jay and Ralph performed earthquake retrofitting work on almost 90 year old my home. They worked ahead of Jay's projected schedule, were timely and efficient. When an expensive problem occurred with foundation cracks, Jay came up with an affordable solution to repair the problem. He's knowledgeable and reliable. Jay and Ralph went above and beyond in their scope of work to do this job and I would highly recommend Heavywood Construction.
