We weren't initially considering having a doula but when we spoke to our ob/gyn about our desire for a natural birth he recommended that we look into it and I'm so glad we did. Rosie was such a special part of our birth experience and now I just can't imagine it without her.

She met with us in the weeks before to get to know us and to talk about our desires for our birth and techniques we hoped to use during labor and delivery. She was available 24/7 from 37 weeks, kept in touch about my weekly doctor appointments and also sent me links to things she thought I'd be interested in or things that would help me and baby.

She met us at the hospital when we asked her to join us. She was such a calm and confident presence during my labor, offering me and my husband support and reassurance. She was polite and courteous towards the staff when requesting that I come off the continuous monitor and move around.

We were able to have the natural hospital birth that we hoped for and our happy and healthy baby girl arrived beautifully.

Rosie stayed with us to offer help with initiating breastfeeding and then paid us a number of visits at home postpartum to spend time with us, to talk about the birth and to help us in practical ways. She will always have a special place in our hearts and
I am delighted to recommend Rosie as a doula!

When I first met Rosie, she was very professional and shared some of her personal experience(s) as a mother and when she helped others throughout their pregnancy journey. I'm really happy that I made the right decision to have Rosie as my doula. She was definitely there for me during and after my pregnancy. She's wasn't just my doula, but my friend, and mentor. After my daughter was born, I was struggling to get things down in the house, take care of my child, as well as myself. Rosie was right there by my side helping me and my husband get things situated. Any mother-to-bes who are looking for a doula, Rosie is the one to call because she is truly a blessing. I would love to have her again in the future. I'm forever grateful that I met Rosie

Thank you again. This was a great experience as a new mommy.

After two doulas fell through we contacted Rosie and met with her about 2 months before our daughter was due. She was very informing about her services and gave us information about my pregnancy expectations. She constantly checked on me and went to my doctors visit and hospital tour where she helped us gather information on pain management. We were prepared for the day mentally and when it happened we knew what to do. I was in labor two days and she was there pushing for my natural birth and no cesarean. She made sure my birth plan was followed. She kept us calm and she coached us through resting during labor. She did some lovely postpartum visits helping us merge into parenthood. We really loved our birthing experience with Rosie. We plan to stay in contact and we read the resources she emails us. Thank you so much Rosie!

My birthing experience with Ms. Rosie Hernandez as my doula was absolutely amazing! As a doula, Rosie combines the roles of educator, maternal figure, and advocate to help a woman achieve the birthing experience she is striving for.

In her role as an educator, among the things Rosie spoke to me at length were the changes that were going on in my body during pregnancy and coping techniques to use during labor. During one of our meetings Rosie even provided visuals such as a ping pong ball in a balloon in orde to drive home the point of all work that the uterus has to do in order to birth a baby.

Her loving kindness as a maternal figure was most evident during labor. Some of the more 'motherly' things Rosie did during my labor in order to comfort me were: caressing my hair, making sure I was hydrated, helping me to keep breathing steadily and verbally reminding me that I could take each contraction one at a time.

As my fiercest advocate and supporter, Rosie helped me to honor the items I included on my birth plan even when I was going through my most intense moments during labor. Despite giving birth in a hospital setting, I had minimal interventions and was able to stick to the majority of the birthing preferences I had drafted. I feel stongly that had Ms. Rosie not been there, I would have completely abandoned my birthing preferences altogether or I would have easily succumbed to procedures that I did not want at all.

In sum, Rosie is an amazing woman and a phenomenal doula. If I do decide to have another child in the future, I would definitely employ her services again!
