Gregg worked with me to design a package of lessons I could give as a gift. He was flexible and helpful, and responded quickly. The actual lessons remain to be scheduled, but his website shows him to be a talented musician and dedicated teacher.

I have not started yet, as I have not figured out my schedule yet, however I spoke with Greg on the telephone, and he sounds terrific, defiantly a skilled teacher.

Albert Einstein ones said “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”
I’ve always wanted to learn music and since everyone around me had given up on my singing skills, I decided guitar might be the next best way.
I found Greg as he was the 1st hit on web search for guitar lessons in DC and it was not by chance that he comes up on all your searches – he is actually that good. After every class, I was ever more inspired to learn the guitar better. Greg is engaging, encouraging, respectful, positive and goal-oriented.
I used to believe practice is the best of all instructors but very quickly realized it lacks joy whereas a good teacher brings joy to the whole experience and Greg is that teacher. Thank you Greg!

Growing up, I was fortunate to have a number of extraordinary music teachers. Fast forward to 5 years ago and I find DC's most extraordinary guitar teacher, Gregg Hammond and DC Guitar Lessons. Taking a guitar lesson with Gregg is a lot like going back to those early years of learning music & believing that I was capable of anything, even playing a favorite song on the guitar while sitting around a campfire with friends. Gregg's style of teaching is unique --- inspiring and empowering his students to learn in the way that is best for them. Whether you wanna play country, rock, jazz or the blues, don't wait another minute to sign up for your first lesson. It will be the best decision you ever make!

A few days ago I celebrated my first year of guitar lessons with DC Guitar Lessons. I am so happy of the progress I made over the past year thanks to Gregg. Before taking classes I didn't know anything about scales, picking style, bending, and now I feel I can even show other aspiring musicians how to do those,by just practicing, following your own pace, but also the passion that you have, powered by Gregg's amazing teaching style! I absolutely recommend DC Guitar Lessons :-)
