Local is important. You can’t organize a community group ride or event, or help a cyclist find the perfect setup for how he or she rides, or advocate for better local cycling when you’re operating from a corporate complex a thousand miles away.
Customization is important. Sooner or later, a cyclist wants to be treated as an individual simply because every person brings his or her own unique sets of challenges to the bike. Every cyclist learns at some point that trial and error is the hard way, often the long way around a problem. Hands down, the best bike shop in Madison, particularly for racers. Excellent staff-professional-best fittings in the business. Highly skilled mechanics and fast turnaround. Excellent advise.

Let me start with ...I'm almost 3 hrs away from Cronometro south of Chicago. I bought my 1st road bike here and had a quick fit at the shop aaaand then a RETUL fit at another. I still had numbing and was uncomfortable. I found Colin on the forums and scheduled a fit. I was simply amazed at the power I made, how long I could ride, AND be comfortable.

“Colin O’Brien owner of Cronometro (located on the isthmus in Madison, WI) was wonderful to work with as he used a combination of grids, levels, tape measures and goniometers to check out my current bike set up. He took an impressive intake asking for any current pain when riding, numbness or tingling and asked about previous injuries. ... We were also able to identify that I had a very dominate power surge as I came over the top of the pedal and lost power as the pedal was lifting, this became one of the bench marks as we looked for improvement to pedal stroke with different geometry.”
