Chicago Spine and Sports

Chiropractic Care

Chicago Spine and Sports is unlike any other chiropractic, pain management, or manual care center in or around Lakeview, IL, and Chicago, IL. We offer an evidence-based, integrated approach to our patients' care including treatments such as Active Release Techniques, cupping therapy, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), personal training services, myofascial therapy, medical pain management and the McKenzie method.

We utilize symptom and movement-based classification systems to develop a unique and distinctive treatment program for each patient. While chiropractic adjustments are important, they are only one health care tool. Some patients need adjustments, others benefit from muscular manipulation and a majority of our patients require a combination of joint manipulation, muscular therapy, and rehabilitation techniques. I see Dr. Doug Krefman from Chicago Spine and Sports and I could not be more satisfied with his care. He is specific in his focus on physical care not just via adjustments but through offering high quality self care exercises so you can manage your care on your own and with his guidance as necessary. I was so impressed that I send many of my clients (I am an acupuncturists at Eastern Integrative Health) to him when they need an ortho evaluation to determine if most invasive exams are necessary and for self care. He is honest, to the point and caring about his outcomes. Well worth a visit if you pay or have insurance coverage. Yo uwill walk away with something for your care.

It's only after I had to change providers due to new insurance coverage that I truly and fully appreciated Doug Krefman's approach to treatment. Unlike my new guy (whom I left after just three sessions), Doug gives you his full attention for the full time, listens well and adjusts treatments in accordance with changing circumstances. Anyone who still thinks that chiropractors just crack your back or "adjust" your spine need to see Doug asap. Insurance or not, I'm heading back to where I get the best care.

Love, love, love the team at Chicago Spine and Sports! Dr. Krebs is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and overall very good at what he does. He is intuitive and always seems to know exactly what to do to address any complaints/issues I may be experiencing, no matter how specific. I also really appreciate that he is down-to-earth and easygoing - never an alarmist, or judgmental. ...

She is always very detailed with insurance coverage/benefits and overall communication in general, which I really appreciate.

    Highly recommend!

I have always been a bit wary of chiropractic care because the techniques and research seems so variable. I was incredibly impressed with Chicago Spine and Sports--from the ease of scheduling appointments, to the friendliest front desk person ever (Katherine), to the excellent care provided by Dr. Krefman. Dr. Krefman takes the time to explain every exercise and treatment, and he truly cares about providing relief that is sustainable over time, outside of the clinic. ...

Dr. Tom Donahue took true interest in my condition, listening carefully to my symptoms, what had been done, what worked, what didn't, etc. He created a plan to address my pain long-term--not to be "visit dependent." His knowledge and innovation is astounding, and his compassion is a rarity!
