Centered Doula Care

Doula

At the Womb Wellness Center, the initial meeting is free. The initial meeting is for the parents and the doula to decide whether it's a good fit. Then, there are three prenatal visits. These allow everyone to become comfortable with each other. During these visits, the doula becomes aware of your hopes and wishes for your birth experience and helps you prepare for the birth of your baby.

A doula is there throughout the pregnancy to assist you in finding the answers to questions through telephone or email. When your labor starts, the support begins when you're ready. Some women prefer phone contact for early labor and other favors the personal contact as soon as possible. Throughout your birthing process, the doula helps you as needed with position changes, massage, visualization, hydrotherapy, rest, and breathing. She is there with you each step of the way, as each surge comes and goes, and as you work to bring your baby from your womb to your arms. Immediately after the birth, the doula stays with you for a short while as you transition into motherhood. She helps get you settled and comfortable into your space and then quietly takes her leave for you to bond with your new family.

We highly encourage you to take a childbirth preparation class as our prenatal doula meetings are not designed to take the place of a class. We have experience working with women and couples who use a wide variety of childbirth preparation courses. Read more

I had a great experience with Mayte. Throughout my pregnancy i had many questions and concerns and she was always able to help me through them and give advise to help. Mayte provided me with unbiased information i needed to make informed decisions on certain things during my pregnancy that could have harmed me or my baby. The night i went into labor we messaged back and forth- and called a few times. We weren't sure if i was in actual labor but we knew something was going on so we met at the hospital. Right away she could tell that my baby was not in the right position so she used rebozo techniques on me. ...

Angeles is amazing! She is an incredible teacher and carries priceless traditional Mexican-American medicine that all women can heal from. In addition to supporting women through birth she offers support through the lifespan of women's health. Her practices are sacred ... she has magical powers. ❤️ DFW is so lucky to have her.

As a first time mother, I did a whole lot of baby "research" which consisted of googling things. I stumbled upon a word I had never seen before, Doula. I thought to myself it would be great to have a doula at my birth, but when I looked up prices, they were out of reach and all hope was lost. I had "decided" on an unmediated birth, this is in quotes because throughout my entire pregnancy I had many people express their doubts and a week before my due date, I doubted myself. Angeles was the perfect fit for all of these things and some I didn't even know existed. She holds a wealth of skill and knowledge no mother, old or new, should go without. Although, her pricing is more than reasonable, the amount of time, skill, and resources she utilizes is priceless. She always had answers to my MANY questions. ...
