Black Mountain Bikes is a great local shop. They have a great selection, and their service department is fantastic. They go above and beyond to help, even if you are a DIY mechanic.

Black Mountain bicycle shop used to be near the Autozone and Bank of America area between Mira Mesa Blvd and Black Mountain Rd. when I was growing up. That is why their name is Black Mountain Rd. I never visited that location, but I did not know they moved up here until a couple of years ago when I came to Trader Joe's by accident. I was surprised that they moved here, but I believe their move will help many people who bicycle at Lake Miramar. Still, this is the main bicycle shop both in Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch. ...

I have lived in San Diego now for the past 7 years, and have been to just about all the bike shops in my surrounding area. With an exception of 3 other shops, Black mountain has been my goto for a few reasons......1 Very friendly service. 2 An Excellent mechanic . 3 They have just about everything you need IN STOCK, knock on wood ...i haven't had to order anything yet. If i had to give 4.9 stars, i would have to scratch up something like the prices are on the top of the industry BUT ! Look at it this way .... It come with Knowledge and experience that you cant put a price on...

We went in today for the 1st time. We were looking to replace a bike that had been stolen. Honestly we were planning to just browse their selection. However, we lucked out and had the best service from Kyle. He spent time telling us about the various bikes in our targeted price point, letting us compare. As there was one that was perfect, took it for a test ride. ...

I absolutely LOVE this shop. I go here very often but the last time I was here was because one of my rear spokes came apart which caused the wheel to become angled and unrideable. I took it to this shop to get it repaired and picked it up a few days later and it was fixed. Prices aren't bad either. Employees are very nice and helpful!!!! This shop seriously deserves more than 5 stars.
