Beginning Ballroom

Dance Teacher

We started dancing in 1991 to prepare for our wedding, and have been dancing ever since!
In 2002, Beginning Ballroom was born, from our many years of experience, and the desire to make learning to dance easier, more fun, affordable and convenient, and less intimidating.
Thank you, and we look forward to dancing with you soon!

I initially got a Groupon for Arthur Murray Studios but driving to Columbia and back & the overall cost ended up not worth it after our initial 2 visits though we enjoyed our instructor quite a lot. We ended up going with Beginning Ballroom in Baltimore for 4 more appointments to which we practiced our wedding first dance song while learning the Foxy, a variation of the Foxtrot. We had a great time learning with them!

We went into our first dance feeling confident that we'd be able to wow our guests!

From the very introduction, Lee treated me like a human being. He asked questions and listened to my answers to tailor his lessons to my needs. I hate dancing, but Lee made every lesson fun. If I needed another 15 minutes in a lesson, he gave it to me. If I needed to reschedule, he bent over backwards. He made the experience of dancing and learning a fun one and gave me all of the tools that I needed to make my first dance with my wife a beautiful one. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we are planning on going back to Lee for more lessons now that our wedding is over! Go to Lee at Beginning Ballroom!

My fiancé and I have taken both group and individual classes as a way to prepare for our Wedding. Lee is a knowledgable instructor, teaching a variety of dances. Neither of us are particularly "good" dancers, but Lee was very patient and encouraging throughout the entire process. He invests a lot of time and energy into his students success and makes it a fun experience for all. I would highly recommend Beginning Ballroom to any couple or individual!

My husband and I wanted to take lessons for our 1st dance at our wedding on 5/21/2016. I found Lee and Christine after a quick search for dance lessons. We couldn't be any happier! We attended some group but found the private lessons suited us best. They are so welcoming and work with you through everything. Lee was upfront about what we could achieve with the lessons we had which I really appreciated. We wanted to avoid the "prom sway". They did a great job of making us feel comfortable and we enjoyed our lessons each week! I highly recommend them. We loved it so much, we want to keep up with the lessons.

My husband and I had a great time taking lessons with Lee in the months leading up to our June 2015 wedding. Not only was Lee super responsive, but also very accommodating with our crazy hectic schedules. I loved how we were taught a variety of moves, so while our first dance was not choreographed, it flowed effortlessly. Our wedding guests raved about our first dance. Reflecting on everything we did to prepare for the wedding, taking dancing lessons was one of the most relaxing and fun preparations we did. I would highly recommend Lee and Christine to other wedding couples, in addition to people looking to learn how to dance. Thank you, Lee! Blayne and Liz
