B Well Sports Massage & Bodywork

Massage Therapist

After cycling, dancing, snowboarding, climbing, hiking and running my way through life with a club foot--and a few spills along the way, I have spent most of my adult life learning how to live a full, active life relatively pain-free. I left the dot-com industry and became a Certified Massage Therapist in 2002 and have been fascinated with how the body works ever since.

I have studied all over Northern California: Anatomy with Rolfer Michael Murphy, a Cadaver Workshop at the Body Therapy Institute, Trigger Point Therapy at San Francisco School of Massage, and Advanced Rotator Cuff Therapy at the Neuromuscular Institute in Boston. I was the owner and Founder of True Massage & Wellness in San Francisco, and my clients include people from all walks of life that want to keep doing the things they love to do! Read more

I've been seeing Mary for almost 8 years now and have been very happy with her. Mary's deep-tissue therapy is truly superlative. She is highly knowledgeable in anatomy and musculature; and she taps this knowledge to deliver an outstanding massage. Mary is a tall and strong woman, allowing her to apply to firm pressure over the entire length of the patient's body without straining. I'm very much a fan and make it to her charming Cow Hollow studio when time permits.

After each session with Mary my body feels tension-free, balanced and rejuvenated. I notice the dramatic benefits during physical activity. My limbs move more smoothly and the correct muscles activate more effectively while chronic pain no longer impedes. Mary's work has effectively rehabilitated my right shoulder (rounded and slumped from bad volleyball form), eliminated my upper and lower back pain (over doing it on seated row and too much sitting), and minimized the symptoms of my TMJ (wisdom teeth extraction). I feel like she has restored my body to its pre-injury state, and I will continue to see her.

... Mary provides serious bodywork for people who understand massage and want a really good one. I wouldn't be surprised if most of her clients are either heavy computer users (people who treat their bodies poorly and suffer pain because of it) or athletes/dancers/actors (people who need their bodies to function extra-well).

She's really gifted. She understands how the human body works and she does an amazing job of digging into -and fixing- all my trouble areas. She also has great personal integrity, is fun to be around, and incredibly kind.
