Austin Bouldering Project

Climbing Gym

We want a big, friendly, welcoming and beautiful space to climb, exercise, and socialize. We want everyone under our roof to be healthy and have fun.

We made a ton of boulders. Surrounded by a ton of foam. Because we love climbing. We have a yoga studio, a fitness studio, huge spaces for fitness training and cardio, and a climbing training area inside of a boulder (it’s a big boulder). Our locker rooms have saunas. There’s a party room, a huge social lounge on the mezzanine, kids and family climbing area, and comfortable places to crack open the laptop, or the newspaper.

Bouldering is super fun. And kids are naturals at it. But rock climbing is dangerous and has many risks. Highly-attentive adult supervision is crucial for the safety of youth and others. Read more

ABP is a fantastic gym both for serious climbers and for kids and families-super bomber problems, lots of area, very cool vibe. My favorite.

Came here for my first time and I was totally impressed. I was a bit nervous because I'm deathly scared of heights and there are 0 ropes to secure you. BUT there is an insanely thick and soft mat for you to fall onto if you must.
My friend has a membership here so I got to have my first session for free! Staff was so nice. There are SO many different routes for beginners to experts to try and the environment is so open and friendly where everyone is uplifting and encouraging. Hard to find ppl like that in 2017 lol.

First of all, I'm a rock-climbing/bouldering noob. So I was a little intimidated when I heard about this place from my fiancee when she said she wanted to go. We went around 6ish in the evening and parking can be hard to find. There's always street parking near there though. A lot of people during that time since that's when everyone gets out of work and comes here for a work out.

... It didn't feel too crowed either even though there was a good amount of people. It was a great workout as well!
I would definitely recommend coming here at least once and take advantage of the free shoe rental. An experience to try!

I love that this place is so huge with so many different routes that you can still find some easy routes after you've completely exhausted your arms. I also love that there's a separate kids area and that they have yoga classes. I've been thinking about getting a membership since it combines two of my favorite things! Without a membership, however, you can still try it for the day and they offer shoe rentals, as well.

Massive gym with great route-setters. Gets really crowded but because there's ample floor space and it's bouldering only, there's never a long wait to get on whatever problem you're wanting to work on. Routes are rotated pretty frequently, and little area maps show you what's new and what's likely to come down soon.
