Dr. Rosina Cullins (previously Dr. Rosina Monaco), graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2003. She took over the Allied Gardens Optometry practice in March 2006 after Dr. John Urey retired. Dr. Cullins is a caring, informative doctor who believes in providing the highest quality eye care service to the San Diego community. She is known for her patience and willingness to explain procedures and eye conditions. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to San Diego after graduation. She is a member of the San Diego Optometric Association, loves to spend time with her husband and her daughter.

I just got new glasses from my previous eye doctor, felt they weren't working, went BACK to the office where they said they 'adjusted' them, and then went home and continued to have trouble seeing. I gave up on that office and found Allied Gardens Family Optometry through Yelp. Dr. Cummins was AMAZING--kind, thorough, and did a few tests my past eye doctor hadn't done. She determined that the problem was not me, it was my new glasses! I decided my next pair of glasses with be purchased from Allied Gardens Family Optometry, and did some frame shopping. The young woman at the front counter helped me look, and found some fabulous frames. She spent time talking with me about what the costs would be, and was so patient and extremely helpful. I'm sticking with Allied Gardens Family Optometry!!

Back in the day, I used to go anywhere for an eye exam so that I could just get an Rx and be done with it. Walmart, JCPenney etc. In 2012, I discovered Allied Gardens Family Optometry through Yelp because of the proximity of my workplace. Four years and two jobs later, I look forward to coming here for my annual check up!

Dr. Cullins is the most knowledgable optometrist I've met in my 20 years of not being able to see what's in front of me! She actually listens to concerns and addresses them. She is able to find things about your eyes no other doctor will care to mention.
It's important to understand that your annual exam isn't just for a prescription, but to take care of the overall health of your eyes. Thankfully, with Dr. Cullins, I know that I am receiving the best quality care. -

I have visited several optometrists through the years, but this office is by far my favorite!! Many other eye doctors and optometry offices make you feel like a number, but this office makes you feel like family. I've visited several times over the past few months for an eye exam, check-up appointments for an eye issue, and to pick up contacts I've ordered. Each visit I have been treated with so much consideration - even when they are super busy!

The staff are beyond accommodating, personable, and caring! The doctor listens to concerns and does an outstanding job as well.

I have benefited from the care of Dr. Cullins since she began her practice in 2003. She is unfailingly attentive and charming. She has the latest equipment, and performs extensive eye exams with great skill. I am a nurse anesthetist of 32 years so I recognize professionalism and quality in a colleague when I see it. I fully recommend Dr. Cullins.
