  When I lived in Pittsburgh, Dr. Johnson gave me all the tools I needed to become a composer and arranger, and I will always be grateful for the great musical education I received at AAMI. I miss Pam's singing at Emmanuel too.

  Every child deserves this kind of comprehensive musical education. AAMI is filled with warm, loving, knowledgeable Teaching Artists. This is more than a lesson, it is a lifestyle. It is a community united by music. Everyone is welcome here. My son now tells me when it's time for lessons. LOL! Can't wait. Don't wanna be late.

  I love AAMI and have known the Johnson's for over 30 years. They have done a tremendous job of serving the community and keeping African American musical traditions alive and relevant in the Pittsburgh area. Several of my family members have taken music lessons at AAMI. I am looking forward to celebrating their 33rd anniversary on March 11th, 2016!!!!

  This is the best place in Pittsburgh for anyone to learn Jazz, Gospel, Blues, & pretty much every form of music there is! I love this place because it has some of the best people invested in sharing, teaching, and giving back.
