I chose Que to be our doula based on a recommendation from a friend, and we honestly could not have had a better doula. When I ended up having to be induced, she talked me through what would happen and encouraged me in my desire to avoid an epidural if possible. When the induction ended up being long and challenging, Que's vast trove of knowledge and years of experience really came in handy. She has seen so many different births that nothing caught her by surprise and she was able to provide advice, encouragement, and pain techniques exactly when we needed them. Her quiet, confident presence brought a lot of peace to what could have been a very stressful situation. Bottom line: despite the induction, I was able to have the natural birth I was hoping for! Que was exactly what we needed, and we thank God for her.

Que was such a huge asset during my VBAC. She calmed my mind MANY times in the months leading up to the birth of my daughter. Que met my husband and myself at the hospital and was with me every second of the labor and delivery. She was never intrusive, but anticipated my needs before I even knew what it was I needed. Que's calm reassurance gave me the confidence to put my mind (and body) to the task at hand. I look forward to having her with me at my next birth, Lord willing!

Upon finding out I was pregnant with my first child, hiring a doula was never a thought that had crossed my mind. I was initially skeptical of having another person in the room, and was fearful that their opinions would overpower my own. Due to changes within my Midwifery it was encouraged at the last minute that I seek a doula to help support my husband and I throughout labor and delivery, and that is when I found Advent Birth Services and Que. Que's support throughout my birth was invaluable. Whether I needed a shoulder to lean on (literally) or to be calmly coached through a contraction, Que was there. Her calm demeanor and patience never wavered as my labor lasted longer than expected. Most importantly her sensitivity and compassion when it was decided that I needed a surgical delivery helped me to overcome my initial emotions of failure and defeat. She spent time talking through options with me and ensuring that my wants and needs were met. Que is a true professional and her services were invaluable throughout my labor and delivery. I highly recommend her to any expecting mother.

Wow. What can I say. Having a child is one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done. And pregnancy and labor/delivery are a huge part of that journey. I am so thankful that my husband and I were living in Atlanta for the birth of our first child, and that we had Que by our side. Her childbirth class was so informative and helped us prepare not only for birth, but for our daughter physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She was such an incredibly strong, calming presence through a labor and delivery that did NOT go as I planned (and could have left me anxious and disappointed). Then when I had major issues with breastfeeding and was freaking out ready to give up, she was there to get me through. I'm so sad that we moved and she couldn't be there for my second daughter's birth. PS. I strongly recommend placenta encapsulation!!

I have birthed 3 children and am soon to birth my 4th. For my first, I didn’t know much about anything regarding labor and birthing. I had an epidural, and no support other than my wonderful husband, but it was his first time, too, so he wasn’t too sure how best to assist me. My second child was born in a birthing tub in a Costa Rican hospital, with a doula assisting. My husband got stuck doing paper work while I was in transition, so I was thankful that I at least had the doula to massage my lower back. However, during the actual pushing stage, no one guided me through it, all assuming I knew what to do. But I had forgotten. I ended up pushing at all the wrong moments, which made my recovery all the much harder. I knew I wanted a doula for any subsequent births, but I wanted guidance from the next doula. Que was doula perfection for me. Just by looking at my face and body posture, she knew exactly when I needed encouragement and knew also uncannily just what encouraging thing I needed to hear. I felt such peace during the entire labor. I did not experience that with the first two births. I loved how she included my husband and taught him some massage techniques to relieve my lower back pain. I didn’t hesitate to contact Que for this fourth pregnancy. Even my husband insisted I needed her there. Que has a gift for helping moms bring their precious treasure(s) into the world.
