Dr. Ching and his great team gave me my life back. Chronic foot pain was making me miserable -- waking me up at night and keeping me out of the mountains and away from exercise. Slowly but surely I was losing the active life I love. The sports medicine docs and podiatrists were out of ideas after years of custom orthotics, anti-inflammatories and neuroma treatments that didn't help. In desperation I called Advance Physical therapy. Dr. Ching quickly discovered my foot was frozen. Improvements started my first visit. Over several months he helped me restore full range of motion, strengthen my ankles and improve my balance. I am thrilled to be pain free, hiking mountain trails, and taking yoga. I am 66 and living well. I have never been more physically fit.

I started to go to Advance Physical Therapy a few months ago because of sciatic nerve pain which was making it difficult for me to walk, stretch, or bend over. At my second or third visit, I was practically hobbling in to their office. My physical therapist, Jason, started working on me, beginning with a very gentle massage. I have had a number of therapeutic massages in the past, most of which were pretty intense. My thought was, well, this is very pleasant but obviously will not do much to alleviate my condition.. After a few minutes of this soft massage Jason asked me to get up & walk. To my utter surprise & great relief, I stood up straight & walked like a normal person, with no pain. Needless to say, I highly recommend this practice & in particular, Dr. Jason.

This review is long overdue. I went to Dr Ching for muscle imbalance issues in 2015 that had developed after hip surgery. Over the few months that I attended sessions at Advance Physical Therapy Dr Ching was incredibly thorough and demonstrated great understanding of the complex ways in which bodies function. I especially appreciated how patient and reassuring he was throughout my recovery process. In addition I only have positive things to say about the whole rest of the team - Caren and the other assistants who helped me with exercises, Deanne who I also had a few sessions with and Denise who did the administration. Through hard work and great care I was able to make significant progress and experience symptom relief. I can definitely recommend this Physical Therapy practice to anyone interested in received exceptional care.

I suffered from a chronic pinched nerve that inhibited my right side of my back and neck. I have seen other physical therapists before and walked in skeptical, but was quickly won over by Dr. Ching and staff. Deanne is great! For the 2-3 months I received treatment the staff was kind and professional. The experience was educational- I learned how to mitigate and prevent my injury with stretching, correct posture, and using a more ergonomic work set-up. It's easy to get to in Redwood City, parking is not problematic, and the facility is clean and pleasant. (I've been to others where the room is packed with people as if it were a gym during peak hours). I highly recommend these guys!

Dr. Chang and his staff are fantastic. I've been a patient twice, once about 10 years ago and again about a year ago. The first time was an arm issue with a lot of pain. I was told that I had radial nerve damage that could never improve. Dr. Chang worked on me, his staff taught me exercises, and I still do the exercises. My arm is fully recovered and pain-free as long as I do the exercises. The second time was pain in my knee diagnosed by a well-respected doctor who said the problem was ligaments in my knee. Dr. Chang found it was related to a life-long back problem. After his PT and exercises, my back is pain free for the first time in 55 years (I am 74). Yes, I still do the exercises to remain pain-free. Thank you Advance Physical Therapy and particularly Dr. Chang.
