2toGroove Dance

Dance Teacher

2toGroove started when Margie Adams was asked to teach what she knew. From a couple classes back in 1997, that grew into 2toGroove Dance. With more than 20 years of dance training and experience as an instructor in swing, ballroom, club partner dances, jazz, ballet, tap and folk dance, Margie brought great teaching and diagnostic skills to her students. Her goal has been to provide an exceptional learning environment in class and private lessons setting. All 2toGroove instructors support that goal. Come try it....the student experience speaks for itself.

Margie's experience as an instructor includes teaching at major international workshops in the US and Europe for 9 years, running the biggest annual cash prize dance contest in the US, the $10K David Patrone Viejas Swing Event for three years. She also managed local venues including “The Rocket Swing Club”, "All Things Swing dance, Swing JAM Fridays and JAMnBLUES dances. And has produced multiple special themed dance events over the years. Came here with a friend and had a great time. We opted for one class with access afterward to the dance floor, which came out to a very reasonable $13 a person with a student discount. Dancing does not come naturally to me by any means restricted to sobriety. In spite of that, the warmth and positivity of the studio environment coupled with the steadfast encouragement of our instructors created a really fun experience for the both of us. Spending time on the dance floor after our lesson was especially fun. The regulars were all super inclusive and wasted no time asking us to dance. I will definitely be coming back here.

I've been taking group lessons Lindy Hop for 6 months and Balboa for 2 months (and still going) with Margie and would most definitely recommend her to everyone!! The classes are never too big, so everyone gets attention from the instructors. (And I can't wait when she starts offering Blues workshops!)

Margie misses nothing and breaks everything down so well and so clearly! Not only I learn how to swing dance but also learn how to be a good partner dancer! All these are a rare find in a dance instructor!

In addition, I had many injuries in the past. She even taught me how to take care of my body and have better dance posture, so I can dance many many more years to come! She is a passionate dancer and dance teacher!

The social dance event Jam'N'Blues on Friday nights that she and her team organize at Dance For 2 is great! Large dance floor, clean & comfortable environment, sufficient free parking, and even free snacks & water. I always have fun, and I met many nice people there!

Great environment, instructors are the best, truly invested in teaching you. I did the 8 weeks of beginning Lindy Hop and every time Margie, Katie, and Pavel made sure to pay attention to every student.

Friday nights Jam'N'Blues are excellent. Building has AC. They don't charge for H2O.

My husband and I took private lessons from Margie in the weeks leading up to our wedding. She's a great teacher and was very patient with us, seeing as though we were totally lost and needed lots of help. :) We loved learning from her. I would definitely recommend her if you're looking for someone who is fun to work with, and really knows her stuff.
