Yoga Bow

Yoga Instructor

The Bowspring Method is a global practice movement method that incorporates the many beautiful elements of a traditional yoga practice (meditation, breathing, and posture) with a completely different alignment method. The Bowspring observes our human bodies as curvy, rather than stacked. The Bowspring is a posture of readiness, lightness of heart and health of a clear mind. The Bowspring builds self-reliance and accountability through spinal strengthening. The Bowspring invites us to integrate the whole body into a healthy movement practice that will be functional, safe and healthy throughout an entire lifetime.

Come to class! Our Bowspring Basics and Earth classes are great for beginners. It takes most students about 8-10 classes to fully understand the Bowspring alignment system, so it is highly recommended to come in on a regular basis (1-4 times a week) for your body to absorb the alignment system. It takes not reading the description for a new business to walk into a yoga studio utilizing the **Bowspring method**, the first of its kind in San Diego. Boy, was I surprised! Plus, I'm still a yogi beginner so I've only taken classes utilizing the Hatha and Vinyasa methods. This was QUITE the experience... in a good way!

... As a beginner, it is recommended to start with the 'Bow Flow Basics' and 'Bow Flow Water', so if I don't end up spending too much on other fitness classes, I think I will invest some time in the near future! Welcome to SD, Yoga Bow!

Sarah's commitment to providing a deeply healing and strengthening yoga practice is at the heart of this studio. All of the Yoga Bow teachers I have had the opportunity to take class with are obviously hand selected and share Sarah's passion for this challenging and unique yoga practice.
I also love the fact that classes are routinely filled with students of all ethnic / cultural backgrounds and body shapes. The diversity is refreshing in a sea of cookie cutter, corporate run studios.

Honestly, I'm normally a heated yoga kind of yogi, but sometimes on a hot day you just want to practice in a nice, clean, and air conditioned studio. Or if you just hate hot yoga, this place is for you. And its conveniently located near several of San Diego's finest craft breweries!

... Besides the beer, there are some great teachers and classes here, go check it out. Namaste!

Sarah knows how to make each yoga class unique and enjoyable, from mixing up the flow to her great playlists. She makes yoga accessible to everyone regardless of experience or flexibility. She's taught me that you don't need to be flexible or "look good" in a pose to get its full benefit. I can't recommend her enough!

I met Sarah a few years back, I've attended her classes many times in those years and they are awesome, she has a gifted way of teaching. Amazing teacher, so knowledgeable and inspiring. She was also one of my teachers at my 200hr TT. I really enjoy learning from her.
