Jason at Waveformless has been really supportive and patient while dealing with me when I was first getting into modular synthesis. He would always answer questions I had and repair modules when I plugged them in the wrong way. He never made me feel bad for breaking stuff and always made a funny joke of it. He's a cool kid.

I have old synthesizers that needed fixing. He fixed them and or buys them. He has been in business for many years and is extremely knowledgable on electronics. If you have any old or vintage gear....he's the go-to guy. He has a small show room and shop. His help is friendly and been very helpful.

These guys have worked on a number of synths and drum machines of mine. When ever I go in it turns into an all out jam session with amazing gear! Love this place.

Jason fixed my Roland Synth Plus 10 in the matter of minutes which allowed me to use it for my gig tonight! I'm so happy with his friendly, quick, and knowledgeable service. I highly recommend him for repairs. The shop has so many amazing new and vintage synths, too! It'll be a stop on every trip to Oakland from now on.

I'm visiting from out of town and found this shop via Google, and simultaneously from Lance at Vintage Synthesizer Museum. Vintage gear in great shape and for sale. Really choice, don't-see-very-often gear (some not-for-sale and from the owner's collection, but some for sale). A (small) selection of vinyl and cassettes for sale. Thoughtful and insightful conversation with the owner about everything from music to the technical details of repairs and modifications. Insightful conversations with other customers about all things analog.
Also, everything's plugged in and ready to play.
I'm spoiled by NYC, but this is the warmest, most friendly and accessible synth shop I've ever been in. Jason Sole, the owner, is a super guy and has a wealth of knowledge. I visited three times in 3 days. I only do that for breakfast joints.

Not only does he, the owner (Jason) have a great lineup of analog synthesizers in the shop to make me wish I made way more money than I do but he is now hosting workshops which I attended the first one of last night. Super knowledgeable, very accessible, not pretentious and then but he, the owner is also additionally very easy going and basically really handsome as well. I mean...
