Wanda Deagen Studio

Dance Teacher

I opened my studio in October of 1988. I started teaching ballroom dance professionally back in 1984. Before that, I taught ballet, jazz, modern, acrobatics, and other types of theatrical dance. In 1999, I began teaching workshops in mind-body practice. This was mainly due to my personal experience with healing the body, and it just seemed like the logical next step in my work.

I think the most satisfying thing about my work is that there's always something new and different to explore. Every student is different, every class is different, every subject is different; and yet, it's all about the same thing: discovering a more meaningful version of who we are.

My fiance and I love Wanda Deagen Studio. I don't mind making a fool of myself on the dance floor in front of a bunch of strangers but my fiance is a bit more reserved. This is why Wanda's studio is so great. We both feel so comfortable there. There is always a student helper nearby to lead us when we get lost.
We purchased the new student special and have used almost all of it. The dance classes were very basic, perfect for us. The private lessons with Stephanie we're so helpful. We were really able to hone in on what we were struggling with. And the workshops and party were a blast! We learned 4 new dances in one night!
Thank you Wanda Deagen Studio for teaching us the basics of dance in preparation for our first dance as husband and wife. You haven't seen the last of us.

I am so happy we found this studio! My husband and I are not people who typically like to be in the spotlight, so we were very nervous about our first dance. Liv was fantastic and really helped us feel confident going into our dance. They are also extremely affordable compared to other dance studios in the area. I'm very grateful we found them!

Just gotta love this place! Dancing can be so intimidating. Yet, dancing is too much fun, so why stay home? This is a safe place to learn to put your best foot forward and to make right and left turns correctly. These folks love to share their passion, skills and great attitudes. You will not sit long waiting to be asked to dance; Wanda has developed the studio with this in mind. I am ever so thankful Michelle Vasquez introduced me, grateful for Wanda to host us, and loving, loving my lessons with Stephanie Hughes. She helps guide me with my strengths and helps me wear off my rough dance edges with her own finesse and skills as an excellent dance instructor.

They have Friday dances where everyone is friends. Bring a dance partner or don't. Someone or staff are bouncing around for the shy or wall flower to dance with. All kinds of dance are encouraged - swing, salsa, cha cha, two-stepping, waltz. I did them all in 2 hours. Extremely friendly. No age limit as there were young teens to young at hearts and all were having fun. Lots of country and older music - all fun.

I love Liv! She is the best dance teacher ever! My fiance and I are not the best dancers. We never grew up dancing. I feel so much more confident for our first dance at our wedding. She even helped me picks songs for the father daughter dance even though she knew I was already taking lessons with my dad back in Seattle. She truly cares and she clearly loves her job. I just wish I had more lessons.
