  I turned 60 and my family wanted to get me something I would really want. I average 50+ days of skiing primarily in the east. I would consider myself an excellent recreational skier and will ski any terrain and have skied the world. My garage has turned into a what looks like ski shop after demoing and purchasing skis that would end up never skiing like they did during the demo. After returning from a family Colorado ski trip last year I received an email from Wagner Custom, I filled out the DNA form and scheduled an appointment to review it with Pete Wagner. The initial call was supposed to be a ½ hour that turned into well over an hour. We stayed focused on what skis I’ve skied and what I like about them, what type of skiing I expect to do with these skis our conversation talked of stiffness, camber, rocker and how hard I push skis ect…then followed with brief discussion of options. Within a day I received a computerized ski recommendation that was based on their questionnaire and our conversation. We spoke again and tweaked a dimension and we had our design recommendation. At no time during this process did I feel any full court press to purchase just an attempt to create a ski that I would be happy skiing. I opted for the wood veneer finish, a more durable base, a titanal metal layer to reduce weight and improve ski feel and their binding recommendation. Prior to committing I did speak with two other custom ski builders but there was no question in my mind Pete knew what I needed.
  After a month or so I received regular progress reports and photos on how my skis we coming along. I received an email saying they were ready for me to send them a boot to mount the bindings I couldn’t have been more excited even though ski season was months away. Finally they arrived beautifully packaged in an Athalon molded wheeled double ski travel bag that has to go for $200. The fit and finish of the skis are perfect and the base structure was a work of art.
  My first 5 days of skiing them I know I got exactly what I wanted! They skied predictable, super smooth and stable all over the mountain. The skis held on ice, easily managed through bumps and were so fast when I let them go. I felt the skis were constantly begging for more and no matter what I put them trough they excelled. Best money spent considering how much I love skiing.
  
  PS After skiing my Wagner Customs I bought my 2 (adult) kids pairs since they have been skiing my rejects since high school and are both amazing skiers. Now I’ll never catch them!

  Pete Wagner, Scott and his crew are very professional. From my DNA layout, updates on production with pics, shipping info and everything arriving on time. My new Royal Ebony wood top sheet pow skis are out of this world beautiful!! We don't get to ski pow every day, but these stay in our A frame and are displayed proudly as Art...Cheers!!
