Super easy, local, have everything you can imagine. They allow pets in store, as well as letting you check out and try almost anything. They also recommend good services when they cant perform such as wheel building and random welding needs.

I do most of my own bike repairs and upgrades. UC has an extensive array of parts available, many of them for same day pick up or I can just walk in. They sponsor a local no kill cat shelter and they are always friendly and helpful. Everyone is welcome at this shop.

Doesn't get more local than this. This shop has been in Portland nearly 20 years and is the best place for parts, cats, bikes, brews, and advice.

For at least the last year I've sworn off local bike shops (LBS) and stuck with Amazon. I don't particularly like this approach but prices and availabity of parts at LBS tends to be horrible. There's nothing worse than having to go to three shops and in the end having a shop have to order your part anyways. This isn't intended to be a knock on LBS, I understand the huge challenges (especially in capital and inventory) they face. ...

These guys are awesome! Great selection and prices that are competitive to any online superstore. I've had nothing but positive experiences with their staff. Keep up the good work guys.

Mostly do online orders as we're always on the road, but this winter and spring have had the opportunity to come in and make more face time recently! Was sad to hear that kitties are no longer free range in the front of house; but you replaced my & my wife's disappointment with much more eye candy! So much new and exciting stuff! Love the new "shoe room" wasn't there the last time we were!
