  • Ania Kermani recommended Assistance League of Los Altos
If you have some free time and want to get the "feel good" feeling, consider volunteering for Assistance League of Los Altos. Their major fundraising is through Costume Bank and the proceeds go towards needy people in Santa Clara County. There are many volunteering opportunities, including working in the Costume Bank, sewing, preparing bags with baby items for poor families, helping with vintage sales and/or vintage fashion shows, getting involved in HOME (Housing for Medical Emergencies) located by Stanford Hospital, which is for patients and their families who are out of area and need a place to stay at highly reduced rates while getting their medical treatment (for cancer, organ transplant, etc.). There is a very minimal commitment and many volunteering opportunities. And the people are fun to work with! read more

  • Ania Kermani recommended GROWING SMILES PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY
The dentist and his staff really know how to talk to kids; they use kid-friendly language, e.g. "we'll take pictures of your teeth" instead of "we'll take x-rays of your teeth", etc. They are super friendly and they don't push you to do everything the first visit. They really ease the kids into LIKING going to dentist - they want the first experiences to be good, so that kids don't dread going to a dentist. read more
