I've been coming here two and a half, and it has been wonderful. Maretta is a wonderful teacher. One of the classes is now taught by Angela, who is also an excellent teacher. This yoga studio is smaller than a typical studio and feels far more personal, as well as very nice and pleasant to be in.

... If you like TriYoga, I recommend trying both Maretta's and Angela's classes. I have learned the most when I had the opportunity to take both.

I don't mind the corporate power yoga that is all the rage, but I come from a traditional yoga training, so I know there is much more to yoga than nice buns. TriYoga Chicago-Hyde Park is an excellent place to delve deeper into yoga. Experienced and very competent training in a small but pristine studio awaits the dedicated student.

This is a lovely yoga studio, so different from the standard gym and corporate yoga operations that are everywhere. The studio is in Maretta's home, and it's a lovely, flower-filled, peaceful place. It's small, so you get personal attention, and there's never been a problem with overcrowding when I've gone. To be on the safe side, you should call before going the first time. You should bring your own mat, but the studio is well supplied with bolsters, blocks, straps etc so you don't need to bring any of that.

... Overall this is a wonderful place to do yoga. Maretta is very caring and personable, and the whole thing adds up to a great mind-body experience.

Fast-forward 5.5 years after committing to my regular TriYoga practice:

I have not experienced nerve symptoms or tendinitis in years, avoided surgery, and am stronger than ever! (And I had another child in between.)

In fact, I have certified as a TriYoga Basics teacher with Maretta and have been teaching. What a wonderful "reset" to my health and life, and I'm so happy to share the journey with others seeking the benefits!
