Trail Head Cyclery

Bike Shop

Trail Head Cyclery was established in 1997 by the father and son duo John and Lars Thomsen. A strong passion for mountain biking created the focus of their shop naturally, but there has always been a love for city bikes as well. This is a quality shop first and foremost, based on the repair side of the business with new bikes and accessory sales supporting that service. Their Professional Mountain Bike Association (PBMA) certified mechanics have been trained by the best to perform quality work on all sorts of bikes, not just the models sold in the shop.

You will find friendly, knowledgeable staff that loves to ride and genuinely excited to help anyone with their cycling needs. There is a huge selection of small parts and accessories that are hand selected by Lars to have met his high expectations of quality and value. Cheap products have no place in Trail Head Cyclery since Lars and his crew want to build relationships based on good recommendations and services that hold true.

The selection of high-end mountain bikes here is second to none in the Bay Area with a full line of demo bikes from Specialized, Ibis, Yeti and Transition. Lars was the pioneer of demo bike programs!

Trail Head Cyclery is also focused on growing the eBike community for both commuting and off-road. With demo bikes for all sorts of eBike riding, customers can really get a feel for how these bikes ride.

Swing by Trail Head Cyclery for an authentic experience you will not find anywhere else! Read more

This is a small business with great attitudes and focus on end customer. Good value in their bike sales. Can always trust the repair folks to let you know what is wrong with your bike when bringing it in for service.

Good advice. Quality work. Had a problem with a damaged bike and they recommended a fix that was appropriate and did not break the bank.

This is one of those shops where walking in makes you feel like you're home. The staff ALWAYS greets you and if you're in there enough, like myself, they care to remember details about your bike and recent upgrades. They did this from day one and this shows they truly care about their customers. ...

These guys are amazing. I put my yeti 575 in for a service. It took a bit longer due to ordering parts but instead of saying sorry, deal with it, they recognized I wanted to go riding and gave me a demo bike.
They set me up and I went to the car park and realized one thing was missing on the demo bike. I'm from Australia and we think upside down so my brakes needed to get flipped. ...

Great team, great bikes, great service. These guys are the best. We came over from the UK and used their demo bikes. Next time we're over, we're heading straight back to see them again!
