Over the past 17 years, the Tracy Anderson Method has grown and evolved, though the basic premise remains the same: Tracy continues to develop thousands of new routines to ensure that no client ever plateaus. With six studio locations—including a brand-new studio in New York City's Upper East Side neighborhood—and more than 170 DVDs (most notably the wildly-popular Metamorphosis series, and Pregnancy Project and Teen Meta DVDs), Tracy has transformed the bodies of thousands of people across the globe. She has designed several tech innovations and fitness solutions, including the patented Iso-Kinetic Band System, The Hybrid Body Reformer, The Super G Floor, The Sprung AB Block, and The Men’s High Intensity Machine. In addition, Tracy has created an array of exercise equipment, protein bars and shakes available at Target stores, and offers global real time video streaming classes from inside her studio locations. Some of the low impact workouts are unique and cause positive change quickly. I like that the workouts are set up so there changes every 10 days thus new muscles are challenged and there is little danger of boredom.
I was so excited to be able to go to the 59th studio, because I take Tracy's classes at home through her streaming service. It was super easy to find with the marquee jutting out above the studio. It used to be a movie theater hence the old marquee is still used. The front of the studio has a retail shop which sells clothes, TAM dvds, CLEAR bars, and TAM shake powder. Alas, the cafe was not open when I visited, but is up and running now. This studio does have a locker room with showers. The lockers are a little tricky since I'm used to using digital or coin lockers. These have 4 sets of dials to lock it and were easy after I figured out how to use it. I had booked my MultiTAsk bands class 30 minutes before I arrived so I had to call since the online system would not let me that close to the class. Since, this was a last minute class I hadn't even grabbed a water bottle and I was glad they had large paper cups to fill with water. Water is a necessity during Tracy Anderson Method. All the equipment is provided for the class. Also, tons of towels are available. The class was so amazing with the bouncy floors and the perfect heat and humidity. Band class is so intense and my arms were sore for a few days after. Looking forward to another trip to the 59th studio.Original recommendation
Can't say enough good things about TAM and this studio. Julie the location manager is so warm and welcoming, as is the rest of the staff. Classes taught by Tracy are an amazing experience but Jaie is such a fantastic instructor too!Original recommendation
I really don't enjoy exercise but have found Tracy Anderson classes pretty enjoyable. It's only fifty minutes and I find my mind is pretty focused on the present movement and not on how much I hate exercise :) She keeps the rooms hot and humid so you sweat a lot which feels good after. The showers are really nice and have good products. The people are nice. Attain definition is a good starter class.Original recommendation
Have you tried TA Tracy Anderson Method? I bought her CD and became ADDICTED. She has a G floor, and now when I fly back in town and stay at the POD or Arlo I can walk to her studio, the largest Flagship, 6,000 SF former Film Theatre converted dance cardio gift to every uptown girl NYC has ever seen. The entire build out is customized and there is a cafe next door where TA and Gwen developed a curated menu of probiotic plates. This is going to be a game changer, if you have not tried group classes are offered.Original recommendation
