Bought my home that I'd been renting for the past 12yrs here in North Portland. The house is a 1927 Crafstman that someone thought would look better with carpet on top of the wood floors. I ripped up the old ugly carpet to expose the wood floors underneath. They needed quite a bit of love. I cleaned them up a bit myself, sanded some paint marks and called the Wood Dr. From beginning to end the experience was easy, exciting and honest. ...

I contacted Loren about refinishing our aging kitchen cabinets/drawers, 15+ yrs of wear and tear. He was quick with his follow up, asked smart questions and set up a site visit to talk through the estimate. Knowledgeable, great attention to detail and the highest quality standards. We were not disappointed in the results - like new look that exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend ..

fantastic work done. I moved into a home that this company refinished cabnets on and am so impressed. I am detailed oriented and very hard to please. I ask the previous owners where they bought the cabnets and when they told me that they were refinished I could not believe it. I have remodeled many homes and I have seldom seen such excellent work I am having the rest of the home to include floors and all bathrooms cabnets refinished. BRAVO for your care and detailed work

We are getting ready to put our house on the market and felt our cabinets could use a “face lift”. We got two bids for the job before calling The Wood Doctor. Not only did the The Wood Doctor present the most affordable solution, but they were prompt and professional and made me feel comfortable having them in my home. The Wood Doctor completed the work in 3 days, cleaned up the house AND the garage (thank you Stephen and Loren!) and the cabinets look beautiful. I am recommending them to all my friends and neighbors, the are GREAT!

Could not be more pleased. We live in a 60 year old home in NE Portland with a kitchen last updated in the 1970’s. All of the kitchen cabinet doors looked worn, having raised a family here. We had first gotten a quote (not from The Wood Doctor) for cabinet “refacing”. That turned out to mean a contractor would come in and remove all of our cabinet doors, toss them out, and replace them with what are essentially plastic replacements (that look like wood). I did a google search for “cabinet resurfacing Portland” and found The Wood Doctor’s website. I gave them a call and Stephen was over within a day to give a written quote. We also needed some carpentry work (related to new oven install). Stephen was able to quote for this work also. The carpenter complete his work on time and The Wood Doctor finished up his work this week. IT LOOKS OUTSTANDING! If your existing cabinets are made of wood (as opposed to say pressboard), you owe it to yourself (and the environment) to get a quote from The Wood Doctor.
