The Pinafore program emphasizes language development through the use of name games, songs, music, stories, puppets, theater, early reading, art activities and projects. Early aesthetic sensitivity and cognitive skills are stimulated through games involving the use of colors, textures, shapes, practical counting, letter and name recognition. The children learn about family, community and basic elements of nature that inhabit the world around them. We love Pinafore so much. Our nearly three-year-old daughter has been incredibly happy there for the past year. She is so excited to attend each morning, and it's hard to get her to leave in the afternoons. ... Thelma and her team have created such a warm, welcoming, nurturing environment at the school; it's very special, unique place. We looked at many daycares when moving back to NYC a little over a year ago (after more than a decade away). Knowing that our daughter is so well cared for each day truly has eased our transition to the city. It's meant that we have never doubted our decision to move back here. We will definitely enroll our next child when old enough to attend.

Pinafore is such a wonderful school. My daughter was there for about 1.5 years until we moved to the suburbs. The teachers are phenomenal, full of energy and creativity. Thelma and Dennis are such a lovely couple, who make parents feel so comfortable and at ease. We are forever grateful for them for providing such a warm and loving environment for our daughter. She still speaks about the school even though it has been about 8 months since we left. We were so lucky to have found this beautiful school!

My son is still attending Pinafore and we continue to love this daycare. Aneta, Anie and Mariana provide a loving and stimulating atmosphere with field trips to the park, the museum, the fire station, cool arts and crafts. We cannot wait for our younger son to start attending in 6 months! We are so grateful to the teachers and to the owners, Thelma and Dennis for running such a wonderful establishment. We can never thank them enough!
