The Pin Cushion

Acupuncture

We believe frequent and regular treatments produce the best results. Research in the United States (as well as thousands of years of tradition in Asia) has shown that acupuncture is most effective when it is done frequently and regularly.

We treat in a community setting. We have grouped several recliners in a warm setting rather than using treatment tables in isolation. Appointment times are staggered so the person in the next chair may be resting with the needles while you receive your treatment. While you rest, someone else may be receiving treatment. The quiet, soothing atmosphere of our clinic will induce your relaxation and speed your results. Read more

I'd been struggling with chronic pain for some time, with western pharmaceutical treatment offering only some benefit, and with several negative side effects. I gave Pin Cushion a try after moving to Capitol Hill, and saw instant relief. I went several times a week at first, and now only have to go in once every week or two. My sciatica and foot neuropathy don't keep me awake all night any more, which is worth every penny. Also, it's the most relaxing way to nap I've found.

At first I was hesitant about doing acupuncture. I am hesitant about alternative medicines, period. However, it worked. I have been struggling with Anxiety and Depression for a long time. I decided to turn to Acupuncture, hesitantly. I saw Julie at the Pin Cushiom. She is awesome. After just one session, I already feel better. I am a believer for sure! The staff is really nice and it is so relaxing. The needle insertion doesn't even hurt! I really like it a lot. I will be starting a regular regimen next week. It is a sliding scale fee between 20 and 50 bucks. You pay what you can in that range. It's cool. If you are looking for great and affordable acupuncture, look no further! Go here!

Found this gem of a place when looking for pain relief for my mother. We found Alex here and he is wonderful. He's calm, attentive, caring and very talented. A true healer. Both my sister and I also receive treatment from Alex and he has truly helped our health issues. I have not received treatment from anyone else here, although my mother has one other time when Alex wasn't working but recommended my mom have treatment. She is in her 80's, post stroke and not easy to please. We are all fans of Alex and his incredible talent.

Best value ever! The sliding rate starts at $20, which is great for people with limited incomes, but I highly recommend paying more if you earn more so that this resource continues to be available! I was definitely on edge the first time, as I'd never done acupuncture in a community setting, but you learn that everyone is in their own space, plus the practitioners are top-notch and willing to talk with you about your goals and anything you've experienced as part of your treatment, and how they are part of the process. Especially impressed by Alex!
