Vintage Synthesizer Restoration

Welcome to the SynthSpa where your tired or hurtin' synth can find new life and health. We specialize in the Juno 106, and love everything vintage and analog. At this time our passion for the Juno 106 has resulted in the restoration of over 700 Junos.

Custom color mods and graphics for any synth also specialities of the SynthSpa. If you've got an idea, please let us know! We also install any midi kit or other electronic modifications with schematics.

Please stop back often as new services for other synths will be brought online in the near future. Roland, Korg, Sequential, Oberheim, and E-mu are just a few of our favorite brands. If you don't see a particular service available, please send us a note and we can set up something specific for you.

From time to time, we sell our own souped up synths, so please check out our eBay store for synths we've created this month.

Thanks for visiting and please come back often! Read more

Restored my failing voice chips in my Juno 106 and even managed to repair other issues with the voice board.

Allen helped me with my 106. He was able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed while I grabbed lunch. His knowledge & experience is unmatched, and super easy to work with. Thanks Allen!

I contracted Allen to find and restore a 106. I opted for the Meany-Greeny package. Ever since I got my 106 it’s been in use a lot! It works perfectly! Allen’s work is top-notch!

Allen totally brought my Juno-106 back to life! Had the infamous voice chip issue & some trace damage (among other things) - and he totally came through!

Couldn't be happier with my experience. I highly, highly recommend Allen if you're wanting it done right!

Allen did a survival restoration on my Juno 106 recently. His work was top-notch and even the new sounds he sent it back with are great!

One caveat - he takes longer than he says he will. But if you're not in a hurry, his work is high-quality and the price is more than reasonable.

Thanks Brian! Yep, putting an end to the longer times, As I've stopped taking Larger projects while we're getting completely caught up. Only circuit boards at the moment! On shut down for 3 months. Reopening in July / Aug. with a new schedule and more accurate turn around times!

Allen was attentive to my needs, Juno restoral, he assisted me with shipping/packing and communicated thru the whole process. Your synth is your baby, and you can totally trust SynthSpa to help with it. Couldn't recommend them enough. Thanks.

Allen created custom end panels / wood sides for my Korg Poly-61M. I was in the process of restoring mine to resell it – as much as I love it, I'm downsizing. So after doing the Tubbutec mods, replacing the battery, and cleaning it up a bit, the last bit was the problem: the already crappy particle-board end panels were falling apart. Lots of people just slap brown wood sides on a synth that were never meant to have them. After discussing it with Allen, he devised a plan to create a gray wash to capture the original aesthetic of the Poly-61M but add the classiness of the wood.

Since he usually does this work on-site, he offered to send me the end panels and then walked me through the installation in detail which felt like someone telling me not to clip the blue wire or the whole bus would explode. But he stayed on the phone with me for an hour, preventing me from making mistakes (e.g., DO NOT USE A POWER SCREWDRIVER!) and nudging me to just push a little harder to get the existing end caps off.

A lot of people gripe about his turnaround time but i can vouch that it was worth the wait to get exactly what I wanted for restoring this synthesizer.

I'm glad I went with the Spa. I saved ~$2000 and received an absolutely stunning like-new modified vintage instrument back. Keep it for however long you want if I don't have to pay 3x the price I paid for the actual synth to begin with!

Just received my highly customized Juno 106 from Allen after a little more than a year of waiting.

The thing looks and sounds incredible. [got blue clear coat paint and a mix of red and blue LEDs]

Even though Allen was late he worked with me and let me choose which of my many custom mods I wanted right now, and which ones could wait till he was caught up. I chose some crucial mods now and saved a few cosmetic and wilder mods for later, in the interest of getting my synth back sooner.

He also offered me some extra free mods and future services to make up for the wait time.

When I talk to Allen I can see that he is another synth head who enjoys what he does, he just got a bit over his head.

I'm glad I stuck with him and am looking forward to seeing what comes outta the Synth Spa when he is on top of the pile.

Allen @ the Synth Spa on Ebay managed to fix my Roland Juno 106 Voice Chip Board. AMAZING! My board actually had bad trace damage along with numerous voice chip issues. There were likely other problems as well so it took a few months to get through it all, but Allen made it happen. I spoke with him on the phone as well and he’s very passionate about what he does and works very hard to achieve success with your voice chip board. He also guarantees his work. Just when I thought he couldn’t fix it, he pulled through and made it happen. Fantastic!

Allen is a guy you can trust.

I've personally seen Synth Spa's Juno work. Top notch stuff! They do great work. They also do 100% original restorations for the purists and If I remember correctly these are 106's that came in with the printing/graphics unfixable, so he takes them and gives them a new look/life for people wanting something different. Cool stuff and better than wasting a case.
