Sunflower began as an Army-Navy surplus store in 1971 and came to include outdoor clothing and equipment, and bicycles as the staffers’ outdoor interests grew. Today we are proud to be recognized as one of the Nation’s Best Bike Shops as selected by the National Bicycle Dealers Association and Bicycle Retailer and Industry News. Great staff, very knowledgeable. Pretty good selection of bikes too. Lawrence is a great biking town and sunflower is a great fit for those looking to hit the road or trails

Dan and the staff are awesome, very involved in the biking and outdoor community, and they throw a great customer appreciation party every year, along with sponsoring the BANFF Mountain Film Festival and having the best SAG stop for the annual Octoginta bike ride! Great service, a great selection of bicycles, bicycle gear, outdoor clothing, camping gear, kayaks and kayak gear, climbing gear, frisbee discs, and other great stuff. It's a great shop with great people and a great vibe!

Very knowledgeable, great sales team and repair shop. The store itself is amazing, very historic, located in downtown Lawrence, Kansas.

I've only been to a few bicycle shops, but this is by far the best. I've come by when I had trouble with my front derailleur and it was adjusted in a minute at no cost.

... They are very transparent about what needs to be done and the cost before signing off. Additionally, all the employees are active in biking and are able to provide first hand advice about what to buy if you aren't certain, while not being pushy. -

This is always my first stop if I am looking for bike, outdoor clothing and camping stuff. They have a knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. I have had my bike worked on at their shop on numerous occasions and I have always been satisfied with the results. I have also bought some travel and outdoor clothes here. We our lucky to have this store in our town.
