Tailor
I learned to sew from my grandmother, a sophisticated seamstress in her own right. After earning a Bachelor’s in Textiles from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I founded Stitched (formerly called Skye Blue Can Sew) in 2007.
My experience includes building costumes for a Broadway-themed show tunes performance, wardrobe for a live casino show, managing the backstage of local fashion shows, sewing for the National Geographic Channel, and creation of a quilt installed in Portland's City Hall for Decemberists’ Day (featured in Pieces of Portland). I assist artists with installations, and have textile work in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Craft. I teach and speak locally, most recently at the Portland Art Museum. In addition to being a seamstress, I consider myself a maker and DIY craftsperson working in fine art, weaving, crochet, knit, spinning… you name it. Read more

This review is for my husband, he needed a suit altered after losing a bunch of weight. We were worried it would cost an arm and a leg since he waited until the last minute to reach out but it was super reasonably priced and the service was great! I had ordered some jeans on Amazon that were perfect except they were too long. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning them to find they didn't have the right size, so I searched Yelp for a nearby tailor. I found Skye Blue and made an appointment. Communication was prompt and she finished my project on time and it looks great. I'd recommend her to anyone.
