The First Friends program is nothing short of amazing. My son became a different child in just 3 months! He went from speaking a only few words and not very social to lively, "flirty" and speaking in full on expressive sentences! The teachers, therapists, and staff treat him as if he's the only child they work with and make him feel special, secure and loved. He's made such wonderful progress and is so prepared for school that I see nothing but great things in his future! I am eternally grateful for everything that has been done for him. THANK YOU!

A friend of mine recommended Spec and now I understand why. I am tremendously thankful to all the stuff and the director Millie. They are all are excellent professionals who treat you and your child like your are important person in the world. Special thank you to Zoila, Karin and Alina who have been wonderful to my kids. My kids are now the best they can be because of them. Also the administrative and receptionist stuff are so sweet and helpful. If you think your child has some leaning challenges this is the place to go to.

SPEC First Friends Program has been amazing for my little boy helping him overcome a speech-language delay! I cannot say enough about this program. Traditional preschools are just not equipped to provide the individualized attention to address the language delay along with early learning and an appropriate social-emotional environment for a child to really thrive. Our child thrives. This place was a life saver!

It is unfortunate the UofM mailman Center for Child development has a poor quality center for children with special needs. The early discovery program referred my son last year to SPEC- Speech Pathology and Educational Center due to my son "not having a speech impairment significant enough to provide therapy" with Early Discovery Program. Instead, they referred the case to SPEC where we only encountered incompetent "therapist" and scammers. The director Millie Suarez was covering for one of her interns/employees who conducted an assessment. It was determined my son did not have a problem. I argued and wanted to be heard only to be pushed away. After digging up dirt, this evaluator is not licensed and is under the supervision of this director. Yet, the evaluator is introducing herself as a licensed therapist and the director confirmed it as well when we spoke on the phone. She was trying to negotiate and offered me to do another evaluation. At this point, I was unhappy and felt cheated. I did not go further as I had no intentions. Today, 9 months later, I received a copy of an "evaluation report" that I had signed, with the directors signature. Amusing enough, I have never met this director. How can she have possibly signed and date the same day I did? These people are scamming parents out there. Beware! UofM please review this company's credentials and their employers licenses. If they are interns they have limitations, only licensed therapist are able to perform an assessment, evaluate it and provide treatment.
