I moved to Portland (over 20 years ago) to be closer to the mountains and the great outdoors that Oregon has to offer. Originally from Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University, I have spent my career working in public accounting helping clients. I specialize in taxation for businesses and individuals and business consulting. I enjoy helping small businesses plan for the future and navigate the tax and filing requirements, as well as work through many of the difficult situations business owners encounter. It became clear that my life was getting just a little too complicated to do my own taxes and I missed the deadline. I was concerned about getting someone else to do them and how much it was going to cost me but Jerry at Sands Solutions made everything very simple and straightforward. One could almost say I look forward to using them again next year, but come on this is taxes we're talking about.

I just started my own business in March of 2014 and I was worried about doing my own taxes. I have a single member LLC and as such my personal taxes and taxes for my business are combined. I found Sand's Solutions on Yelp and I'm so glad I did!

We had to let go of our former tax accountant for several reasons - one being they jacked their prices way up due to the Health Care bill. Did not make any sense. So we thought we would give an online do it yourself tax software a try. This was disastrous as it did not offer ways to carry over losses etc and so the result we got was owing what we usually get back. We checked out Yelp and called one of the highly recommended tax folks but they were booked and referred us to Jerry Catlin at Sands Solutions. THANK GOD. Fast, efficient, friendly, thorough, and reasonable fees and - turns out our return is a good one! Almost what we thought we needed to pay with the do it yourself tax kit. So glad we found him :)
