San Diego County Bicycle Coalition

Event Coordinator

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition advocates for and protects the rights of all people who ride bicycles. We promote bicycling as a mainstream, safe, and enjoyable form of transportation and recreation.

Since 1987, we have acted as the voice for bicyclists in the region and have advocated for safer streets and hundreds of miles of bike paths, lanes, and trails all across the San Diego region. We conduct educational programs, promote awareness of bicyclists and bicycling issues, review infrastructure improvements, and act as a voice for bicyclists to elected officials and decision-makers all over San Diego County. The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition works hard to promote for all forms of bicycle advocacy - creating events and building community, while simultaneously working with City governments throughout San Diego County to improve bicycling infrastructure. Their programs range from youth education and vying for safe routes to school to family friendly community rides, to collaborating with New Belgium to host Tour de Fat every year. Their staff pays attention to social inclusion and is social and environmental justice oriented. And, they know how to have a good time!
