  I have lived in DC for a few years and had yet to find a place that did highlights that I liked at a reasonable price. I went to Salon Gerard right before my engagement pictures for an appointment with Shelley. Right off the bat she was super friendly and engaging. She nailed my highlights and although we ran out of time for a trim, she offered to style my hair for my engagement pictures. I have a ton of hair so Gerard even stepped in to help since it was taking forever for my hair to dry. I walked out of the salon feeling confident and happy and I loved my hair in my pictures. This has been my best hair salon experience in DC so far!

  After reading the positive reviews I decided to give Salon Gerard a shot. I was able to get an appointment the same day and gave me the best cut I've had in years. Gerard was patient, open to my suggestions and expertly addressed my concerns. In truth I only booked the cut as a one off, but I left knowing I had found my DC salon.

  The service is amazing! Gerard and Mary are wonderful and truly artists in their own right. The reception was great, the reception was welcoming with a smile and a relaxing cup of tea. Mary listened to how I usually wear my hair and how to trim my hair. She did a great job considering my hair type is not often what they see in their area but Mary did an amazing job! My hair feels so healthy and looks great! She styled my hair in an intricate up-do that took no time at all and looked great! I highly recommend this Salon, Mary will take care of you!

  Had a wonderful and fun experience here!! Very welcoming and professional. Mary is a very talented and personable stylist. She definitely understands hair and caters to your particular needs and wishes yet also gives good advice. I'm very happy with the service I received and will be returning! Thank you Salon Gerard!!
