Rebecca Gay Doula CLC

Doula

I am the mom of 3 incredible young men that are teens and nearly adults. My first son was a traumatic birth by unnecessary cesarean at 38 weeks following a failed induction. My next two sons were successful hospital VBACs.

I trained with DONA to become a birth doula in 2003. As we enter 2017, I’ve had the honor of participating in over 600 births at hospitals, homes, and birth centers. I am also certified lactation counselor. As your Doula, this service is included at no additional cost to you. I offer a one day, boot camp style, Childbirth Education Class. The class includes everything from the anatomy of labor to postpartum and breastfeeding basics. I also offer Placenta Encapsulation with no deposit required. A Cord Keepsakes is included with all placenta pills. Read more

She was amazing both in knowledge and being dependable. We are so happy we hired her! She encouraged us to be strong and not induce too early and we had a normal vaginal birth. She was always available which was comforting as first Time Parents. But she was never pushy and accurately outlined the choices we had. Sometimes she can be strong in her language or points of view but she is our advocate! Needed in today's world. Bravo to her!!

I contacted Rebecca while I was 8 months pregnant with my son. My husband is in the military and was going to be away for training during the time of the birth. With not having family near me I was so worried about through labor and delivery alone. I could not be more happy that I did. Since the first time I met with her to see if how we meshed I was beyond happy to met someone that I knew was going to become an important part of my life. Rebecca was always available when I had questions or concerns. My goal was to have a natural hospital birth.
Due to some complications I ended up needing to be induced. With information from Rebecca I was able to go with the most natural approach for a starter. There were several changes to my birth plan due to complications that came up but Rebecca was so supportive and knowledgeable to any questions I had. Never once did I feel unsupported of changes that came along.
Rebecca was amazing with talking me through each of my contractions and keeping me focused on getting through the one I was on. As things progressed and became more difficult Rebecca was there. Talking me through, helping massage my back and hips with all the pain I was having with my back labor and keeping me going.
Without Rebecca's support, encouragement and guideance I would not have made it through the difficult labor and delivery. While I did end up having a few interventions in my labor, I did make it through without pain medication. And it is because of her. So many times I thought and said I can't do this and she reminded me, Yes, you can. She kept me going.
I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone that wants a support person that will support you no matter what you choose in your labor and delivery. She is a treasured person in my life and will always have a special place in my heart.
My husband is so thankful that I had someone there with me when he couldn't be.

Rebecca literally saved my labor/delivery experience! I'm a procrastinator, so of course I was already 39 weeks pregnant when I contacted her but she did not hesitate to step in and support me! Rebecca gave me a sense of confidence that was a Godsend! She told me step by step what to expect during labor and gave me techniqies that got me through the contractions to a natural birth. Even after delivery, Rebecca has been constant support with breastfeeding advice and consult about my own personal recovery. I am forever grateful for her existence and the value she has brought to my life in transitioning to motherhood. She is hands down THE BEST!

Rebecca Gay is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet! You talk to her for two minutes and you fall in love and want her to be your best friend! I had her encapsulate my placenta into pills and it was worth every penny! She had them to my hospital room next day and my milk came in before I left the hospital!! ❤️ She is completely amazing and I rave about and recommend her to everyone I know!!

Being a first time mother in a foreign state, I was advised to find a doula for extra support and knowledge. Giving birth to my son, now 7 days ago, has been the most difficult thing I have ever done and truly without Rebecca walking me through each contraction it would have been even more unbearable. She was always responsive leading up to labor, super reliable through phone calls and text and for any new mommy simple things like that are so comforting. She helped me know when it was the right time to head for the hospital and helped gauge what stages of labor I was in before arriving. If you are nervous or have questions about birth, I highly recommend Rebecca. My family is grateful to her knowledge and support during this crazy roller coaster of life!
