Amazing place! I love that they do a consultation with new customers to make sure we are on the same page with what they can do with my hair. Shauna cuts my hair and always does a wonderful job; she is also fun company. I have had my hair done in two different styles by Gabriel and I was satisfied completely both times, he is also fun to talk to. The owner is so nice and welcoming! All around a great environment with people who take hair seriously.

I found Pura Vida on Yelp... They did not disappoint! I texted them and got an appointment for the very next morning. Once I arrived, a met with Elle for my style analysis. We talked through what my hair was doing and what I wanted it to do. It's so nice having someone to talk to who is so knowledgable about why my hair does what it does and how to make it better. She was able to answer every question I had so well that I already knew I was going to love whatever she did. Elle handled the cut, and was so much fun to chat with. ... I'm already booked for my follow up appointment where I'm excited to try out some color. Thank you so much Elle & Zoe- you are both amazing!

I'm only in Dallas for the summer but desperately needed a cut. Naturally I was nervous to try out a new salon, but I had my appointment yesterday and it was incredible. I was able to book my apt via text message with Whitley. She's literally the nicest person ever and incredibly talented. She's also extremely educated and was constantly giving me explanations and tips on my hair and how to style it. She even took the time to show me how to use a wand in my hair to get a beachy wave. Additionally the salon is incredibly clean and has a fun little vibe to it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a one-time cut or a routine cut.

... Gabriel honestly told me without hesitation that he hasn’t done ethnic hair in years and he was appreciative that I chose the salon. Everyone, including Gabriel and I, were impressed with the Kevin Murphy products used! I immediately noticed the difference in my hair in the shampoo bowl! It looked as though my hair was relaxed! My hair has never felt so soft, clean, healthy, and light. Gabriel was very proud of himself and grateful for my kind words! The customer service and the cleanliness were impressive as well. While I’m here in Dallas, I will be visiting Gabriel and Pura Vida salon. Come on Black girls let’s rock!
